Youre right, but no-one 'at that time' expected it was going to be $599 and release a year after the 360.

It did keep its momentum despite that and was able to beat the 360 overall, and on average sales per year.

I bet if MS or Nintendo released a console more expensive than Sony in the same generation they wouldnt be able to come close to PS' sales.... oh wait, we can already see that this gen. Hence the momentum was there and making people pay for the more expensive console.

Um, I am talking about well after the release date and price was revealed and right up until release. Sony believed it too, otherwise they'd have launched things differently.

It didn't beat the 360 overall, hence this thread :) It has per year, which again makes the head start less relevant. It just needs a little more time to pass the 360.

Just making my case for me with the last bit as well. The market power and momentum of Playstation made the 360 head start irrelevant.

lol... youre saying people expected PS3 to match PS2 AFTER $599 price point was announced?

From what I recall, thats the point when the PS2 comparisons stopped and the doom stories began.

And please explain how you can possibly compare market momentum (and how you calculated this to begin with), with the 360's head start, and come to the conclusion that these completely different things, for some reason, cancel each other out.

How many threads of those do you need to make? And that when sales don't matter, imagine if they did.

How many times you intend to state facts based on assumption? Ioi already asked to proof to review the numbers. USA is 2M overtracked, UK and Japan is spot on, germany was overtracked as well. So please show numbers that really shows it instead of conjecture.
Also have you considered the possibility of Sony cutting its shipments to release a new sku?

And on the retailers don't buy stock while they sstill have older one. How was that someplaces had day one edition x1 together with titanfall in the same shelf?

First he can make threads like this as much as he needs if it necessary, there is no forum rules against that.

Second are you really mentioning the Titanfall bundles into this? That was nearly a year ago and you are assuming that there are plenty of retailers that still have it.You should realise that they should of sold nearly all of them by now especially when they discount it before and during the holidays to make way for the 3 X1 bundles(the Assassin's Creed one mostly). When I go to retailers like Target I never see the Titanfall bundle and I only find the Assassin's Creed bundle.

Proud to be a Californian.

It's just the usual MS overshipment over the holidays - it happens every year.

So the general consensus is:
XB1 12m shipped, 11m sold through
PS4: 19.9m shipped, 18.5m sold through

Am I right?

I've said it many times.... xbox 360 was #2, and the ps3 was last. People couldn't handle that truth then, and they still cant.

This overshipped-nonsense needs to die a slow and painful death.
A manufacturer can't overship. End of story.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

No, no one can. Duplicate threads and spamming are against forum rules.

Have I said there are TF bundles in shelves (even if there may be)? Nope, I said that when TF bundle released there were stores that ordered them even though they still had the day one edition bundle. Mr. Manager Ludicrouspeed knows that stores will order new bundle even if they have older stock picking dust so they don't miss newer promos and desired itens. And I agree with him on ms not accepting returns (which would probably appear in some way on the books if they did, and we never saw it as far as I'm aware).

Umm... I don't think making a thread like this every 3 or 4 months is considered spamming.

Proud to be a Californian.

360 is almost dead right now, as it was in all 2014 apart from very high holiday season. PS3 is easy 2nd !
