Forums - Sales Discussion - PS3 shipped 1.1m units over the holiday, 360 2.1m~ 360 LTD ahead of PS3, still in 2nd Place

So we've deduced that XB1 shipped around 4.5m units for 12m shipped over the holiday period (with 11m sell through).

This left 2.1m for the Xbox 360.

Which means it outsold PS3 over the holiday by a cool 1 million units.

Very different to what we've been showing.

If numbers are true it is only another hint that numbers are still wrong for last gen and that PS3 perhaps has never overtaken 360. Which wouldn't be much surprising to me.

It most definitely hasn't after this.

Yep.

360 is still ahead.

Been saying it for ages but people dont like it and now we have the facts to substantiate it.  Unless people want to say the ONE is at 13m or more shipped?

I'm sure that'll be the new reasoning "Channel stuffing"

360 outshipped PS3 by around 800k~ last year.

Looks like PS3's customers are switching over to this gen quicker than Xbox.

Yes, there are alot of us that has been saying this all along. Sadly Sony did the same stupid thing with PS3 shipments as MS are doing now with X1: combining with the other console making it very hard to deduce what the actual shipments are. But unless X1 shipped much more than anyone would have believed, 360 is comfortably ahead for the 7th gen.

The abuse I got in you last thread on this subject... lol

The abuse we both got the last few years for it, when people were certain it had happened. Hilarious. We know best kowen :P

I hope ioi sees this and adjusts accordingly, 360 has been undertracked for far too long.

My LTD's look like this

PS3 - 85.9
360 - 86.9

The last 3 Q's for 360 we've had to work out ourselves, as well as FY 2013 for PS3. But given Sony had a forecast of 13m (and never hit any forecasts in the latter years, as well as not mentioning if they had surpassed it) we know that is the ceiling. I have around 12.2m that year.

Well deserved :)
I guess the PS3 really is dying quicker than people thought...

Ok now I am confused. Is vgchartz supposed to track shipped or sold to consumers hardware numbers?

That is really weird. I downloaded duck tales last month, hit man trilogy , Mirror edge before that and this month will be thief to name a few. With easily upgradeable HDD. I feel no reason to buy PS4 anytime soon. PS3 is a beast. But PS4 is kicking ass at 6.4 to PS3 1.1M. This is a huge difference
