We often give reasons as to why we own the consoles we own, but more rarely do we give reasons as to why we don't own other consoles.

So, as the title suggests, what reason(s) is keeping you away from owning other consoles?

For myself, I own a variety of consoles spanning 5 generations. But I've never owned an Xbox. There's nothing wrong with Xbox, and I think all 3 Xbox's are great! (I'm confident in saying that despite never owning one) For me, it comes down to a matter of opinion as to what types of games I prefer. I like Japanese games. Unfortunately, Xbox has a serious lack of those. So there simply hasn't been enough games that interest me enough to make me buy one.

Maybe Scalebound will be good though! But I don't think I'd spend $400+ for one game. There needs to be a few more to make me buy an Xbox One!

Well, I usually own a Nintendo + Sony platform in every generation but never a Xbox and the main reason for that is that they require you to pay a yearly fee in order to get online which is something I really don't like. And the reason is that a service like steam shows that an online service can either be equal or out do a paid service while still being free and I honestly cannot see myself paying for online while steam offers such a good if not better services than its paid competitors.

Not to say it my opinion won't change but that is why I never owned an xbox console ever and since a ps4 also has that mandatory payment thing, I am struggling to get that too. If it didn't I would own one as soon as Bloodborne comes out but since it does, I am really waiting for a lot of games that I want to come out and then I might get it

Oh and Blue Master Race

At the moment, nothing on ps4 to make it worth taking up space in the living room. That may change later but nothing on the horizon at the moment. I have ps3, xbox 360, xbox one, wii. Sold all my older gen consoles from Sega, Nintendo, Atari, Sony, Microsoft, wii will be out the door shortly too (giving to my sister as I haven't had it plugged in for ages). I buy whatever has games on it that I want.

Don't own:
XOne - last gen I owned X360, and was looking forward to upgrading to next gen (while it was still being codenamed X720). But I refused to pay extra for the mandatory useless Kinect, and their anti-consumer policies made me decide to never give money to Microsoft again, and preordered PS4 the day after their E3 conferences. There is no game in the world that will ever make me buy XOne.

WiiU - Never had any interest in Nintendo in general, and that holds true here. They have absolutely no games that interest me, I consider them a company stuck in the 20th century, and I like to live in the present.

I have them all, so i have to leave the thread D:

Order of priority versus justifiable expenses versus disposable income. That would be the only real answer for me, or I'd have everything.

As far as my order or priority goes:

1 - PS4: I'll get one this year. I like Sony first-party and I like diversity.

2 - 3DS: I want one because of Fire Emblem, mostly, and a few other RPGs. I'm not a fan of the actual hardware, though.

3 - Xbox One: Honestly, at this point, Halo is pretty much the only draw. Quantum Break has a chance at grabbing my attention, however. Other than that, though, I would rank it far behind the PS4, as it is very unlikely to get much Japanese support. I'm not a Gears of War fan.

4 - Wii U: Zelda ... and that's probably it. Maybe XenoX but I haven't liked what I've seen of the combat system. A big maybe on Splatoon and Star Fox. If those end up being really good, it could leap-frog the XO. Generally speaking, though, I'm not a fan of platformers, which makes the Wii U far less attractive to me than to someone who is a fan of that genre.

XBO - Not enough games I'm interested in.
3DS - I already have a Vita and really don't want two handhelds.

X1 - As an RPG fan, I need way more than just Scalebound. Most of the console's other exclusives don't interest me with the exception of Quantum Break

Wii U - Don't have the time and money to invest in one. T_T I really want to get my hands on Zelda U, Splatoon, and Xeno X.

3DS - My girlfriend has a 3DS and I have a Vita. We sometimes exchange our handhelds, so I don't really need one for my own :P

I lack the money to buy them all as I'm just a high school student and am too lazy to look for a job v.v Plus I never have time to play the games I want as it is, it'd be worse having even more systems that I might not touch for years XD

PS4 - has no exclusives that interest me.
