So I was bored and checked out the ranking of the top 20 downloaded games on the Eshop:

1. Wii Street U (no idea what this is, is it a game?)

2. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD (this game must have pretty high digital sales, it's always in the recent rankings as well)

3. Trine 2: Director's cut (What? A third party game?!! OMG #sarcasm)

4. Super Mario World

5. The Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past

6. Art Academy: SketchPad

7. Earthbound (people really want to see this back huh)

8. DuckTales: Remastered

9. NES Remix

10. Super Mario Galaxy 2 (already in the top ten with only 2 weeks worth of sales! The fans want Galaxy 3, Nintendo)

11. Metroid Prime Trilogy (with only 6 days worth of sales and closing in fast on SMG2! Listen to the fans Nintendo!)

12. Mario Kart 8

13. Child of Light (maybe Nintendo will get future third party support from "small" games like this)

14. Super Mario 3D World

15. Super Mario Bros. 3

16.  The Legend of Zelda: the Minish Cap

17. NES Remix 2

18. Toki Tori 2+ (never heard of it before this, gameplay videos looked cool though)

19. Super Mario Kart (why?)

20. The Legend of Zelda (again, why?)

Mario: 5 games

Zelda: 4 games

NES Remix: 2 games

I'm surprised Shovel Knight isn't even in the top 20. It's #14 if we exclude all Virtual Console titles though. Now how big are these sales? We don't know, but we do know that Shovel Knight sold about 81k copies as of December 6 (and that's with only one month's worth of European sales). So the two Wii games on this list must have already sold quite a lot. It was a really good idea of Nintendo to release Wii games on the Wii U eshop. I think it's safe to say that Metroid Prime Trilogy is a million seller already lol (combined with retail of course).

MK8 was ranked 13th when NPD had its June results (mid July) and it was announced that MK8 sales were 132k digitally. So itwas at least 132k at that time.

This means ranked 13th+ are all 132k at minimum, but actually its now 15th and up thanks to 2 games entering from then intill now.

 

Put it in OP Title!!! 132k At Minimum in the US.

"Top 20 most downloaded games on the Wii U eshop"... ever? Really curious. Because if it is, holy God, seeing Child of Light at 13th position it's really cool, deserves it.

And yes, fans want Metroid Prime 4.



My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
