This year is the peak year. I agree that generations (including this one) will be more front-loaded than before, but not to the degree you think.

Even for me 2015 is the Peak.

But I expect a seriusly smaller increase for PS4 and XBO and that the sales will dropped like a rock in 2016-2017. (As is happen for 3ds)

SPECIALLY XBOX ONE.

I cant see any major increases for Sony maybe 10 percent max xboxone I can see it increasing as its not hated as much as It used to be and with the possibility of the two big guns out this year gears, halo. I can see it having a good year, also wii u can only increase in sales can it not

Why would that make sense when to date the next gen consoles have only had 1 major 3rd party exclusive (assassins creed Unity). Going forward they're going to have dozens and have them more frequently, you're not taking account software. Elderscrolls, Fallout, Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts 3, Gears of 4, GTA6, Mass Effect 4, next gen exclusive COD, Battlefield, Destiny 2 etc. Even fall 2015 titles like Halo 5, Uncharted 4 and Starwars will have a benefitial effect on how 2016 sales begin. Momentum doesn't die over night.

-Ps4 still didn't do any big price cut
-Cross-gen games affected ps4 and x1
-They didn't release they biggest first party games

So no it's not the peak year

- ok

- cross gen have always sold better on next gen, and usually for the people don't cont if Coming on od gen.

- The Best ss for 3DS was MH and Pokemon in Japan, but it is don Yoy. Also Wii U with MK8 and Smash is increase by just 10%...

Also:

-XBO is down 500 to 350 $ last year

- PS4 Hype of launch is Ending.

Even if cross-gen games sold better on next gen consoles some peoples didn't buy a ps4 because they can play those games on old gen consoles.

Ps4 had something both 3DS and Wii yiu don't have it's 3rd party.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

I think those cases can be attributed to weak software. With no compelling software, price cuts can only do so much.

In PS4's case, I'm sure a price cut to 299 would spur sales a lot and I think 2016 is the earliest it will peak. The Xbox One could be more a bit front-loaded due to the very heavy promotions it's had from the very beginning, but I don't think it peaked already.

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

The PS4 pulled 18.5 million units without any big price drops and a terrible lineup of holiday exclusives. It has plenty of room to grow. I don't expect sales to peak until next year at the absolute earliest.

XBOX is increase by 4% first to second year.

XB360 is increase by 10% first to second year.

Now, for XBO are Coming:

Titanfall, Forza 5-horizon 2, Sunset overdrive, Halo MCC, Dead rising 3...XBO has already the games.

This year will Coming just Halo 5, and for test of year XBO not have games...

Gears will probabily Coming in 2016, Tom Raider and Quantum Break are not Sistem seller...also the price is down by 150$.

imo XBO sales will be a succes if will be like last year.

The systems that failed to grow substantially, or at all, YoY between year 1 and 2 all got significant price cuts in year 1. I can see PS4 selling at roughly the same level as 2014 through 2015 until there is a price cut. Bring in a $50 price cut, or even a $100 price cut and PS4 will end the year substantially higher than 2014. If a price cut is in effect from mid-October on then adding Uncharted 4 to the mix could potentially cause holiday 2015 to sell double PS4's holiday 2014.

If Sony decides to be tight-fisted and does not officially cut the price this year, then yes 2015 could be a flat or even marginally down year. But that only means 2016 will be a massive year because Sony would cut the price of PS4 by $100 (for sure) some time in the first half (probably) of 2016.

I expect Xb one sales to be up through the first 10 months of the year, because price of entry is $150 cheaper from Jan to May, and from June to Oct it's $50 cheaper. I also expect MS to do another "holiday" price cut of $50 (globally this time) which will magically turn into a permanent price cut in Jan 2016. I expect Xb one to stay at $299 in the USA for all of 2016. I can't see them dropping to $249 (temporarily or permanently) until 2017.

x1 yes. PS4 no. With that market share it will grow with friends and of course with more great exclusives and Japan finally catching on (even more Japanese exclusives). PS4 will peak when it has a $300 price cut.
