| ROFL. What you just described is exactly how the controls work in RE4! You push up on the analog stick to move forward, and left/right to turn the character. Precisely right. | Surprisingly many people thought that RE4 has different controls than previous titles of the series. But all that has really changed is the ability to freely aim at the enemies with the analog stick. Movement, run button, quick turn, menu, button to get the gun ready, still the same.
I blame the change of the camera view!

In all seriousness, though, Entroper misunderstands what "tank controls" are, no doubt because the truth is too horrible to imagine for someone who has not experienced them.
I just double-checked that these are in fact the controls on the original Resident Evil:
1. The "up" controller direction is not up on the screen, it is forward from the perspective of the character.
2. "left" and "right"
rotate the character.

You can imagine why those of us who suffered through these controls to gain access to the game reckon RE4 a monumental advance in control scheme.
