Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Can we get a new Xenoblade as a launch tittle for Nintendo's next home console?

The first Xenoblade Chronicles was released on wii back in 2010. I don't think development for xeno x started untill a few months after that. That means it took slightly more than 4 years to develop Xeno X. However, as monolith's first HD project, it probably took quite longer to develop due to their inexperience.

I think that if they start right away and use the same engine + some assets, they could make a new xenoblade of the same size (but more detailed) in much less time. Maybe it's possible that they deliver a new game in late 2017 or early 2018, being at the launch/launch window of the next home console for nintendo.

Thoughts?

The console isn't releasing that late, and another Xenoblade game isn't coming out that soon.

They just spent nearly 5 years make X, how are they supposed to have a third ready in time for the next system?

Well i agree with this. But i doubt it was 5 years, maybe 3.5years to 4years imo. Definitely longer than 3years

Would fap if that was the case!

Probably not.

But a New Smash game as launch title is another good idea. :P

It may warm the cockles of us jrpg fans but with the production times and considering the fact that for all it's appeal its genre sells well but it's not Mario or Zelda I would say no need to rush it for little gain , better to give it all the time it needs .

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

As much as I'd like for it to happen, I chose no. There is also a part of me that wants it to come out year two or three because that's usually when games are made that really reflect what the console can truly do. I just don't want to see it rushed to release next to a home console I guess. The Xeno series is one that SHOULD take a long time to create, making sure nothing is taken out of the game and there is ample time in the preproduction stage to really have a great story.

If only games were as easy to make as internet forum threads. Sorry, answer is no.

The next Nintendo console will probably be out before the next Xenoblade is even in development.
