There are reasons why most developers do not crack down on youtube. One of the reasons has to do with brain cells.

Nintendo is 100% right in taking profits from the use of their IPs. Whether or not it's a good business decision is another matter.

I think for him....he has WAY enough money anyway.

also....he doesn't even do 1 Nintendo wii u/3ds related video a week. That specific YTber must not worry. At all.

Imagine PewDiePie playing Bayo 2 and then suddenly the game does much better sales wise.

Its sales would definitely surge. He has affected the sales of games many times before.

Sure, if he played the game. But he doesn't play Wii U games. So the point is moot. 

Or not. The impact of such things on sales is very debatable. It is also a point, that demos actually decrease sales of a game. I think there was a penny arcade video about that.

I think the people in this thread are focusing too much on Pewdiepie. The actual point of this stretches across all youtube LPers and reviewers. Hell, even the article's author thinks it's a stupid idea^^

Most people think it's a stupid idea, but it is a step in the right direction. 2 years ago it was much worse. It's a good start and they will hopefully  soon see that youtube isn't a bad thing for them. 

Square Enix also doesn't like people who upload gameplay of their games btw. They have been claiming videos for quite some time too.

Am I the only person that thinks pewdiepie is overrated and cared about nothing he said before this?
