I doubt it.  What's actually happening is that Nintendo has had so many GOTY nominations and the quality of their efforts have started to permeate the overall gaming media, and it scares the Nintendoom fish away (thankfully).

I mean, you just can't keep talking smack at Nintendo when they've sold nearly 6 million amiibo (something many people thought was stupid and destined to fail against Skylanders/Infinity) and are struggling to keep up with demand, posted a profit after years of losses, and have several games that are already regarded as GOTY contenders and won many GOTY awards from various credible sites.

In other words, hating on Nintendo started to look stupid

You might wanna come up with something else because I was talking of a time before amiibos existed. This is a sales sight and we mostly care about which console sells most. Ps4 is dominating and suddenly all the ps3 fans are declining.  Maybe the ps4 is satisfying them so much that they don't have time for forums.  I dunno. But what explains the big increase in nintendo fans when their sales have plummeted? 

I'm not "coming up" with anything, since everything I've said is factual...

Having said that, I said over the course of the year.  The end of 2013 started to show off some quality titles on the Wii U, but then mid-2014 hit with Mario Kart 8 and that shut up a lot of people about the Wii U's power and graphical quality of the games.  By the end of the year, everyone knew Smash Bros was coming, and it did, and it has sold well considering the small size of the fanbase.  Add to that the amiibo sales, and it's only the worst-of-the-worst reaching for Nintendo doom.  The overall outlook on the Wii U over the past year has changed in its favor, despite its lower-than-ideal sales.

At the same time, sales of the Wii U haven't "plummeted", and the PS4 isn't exactly bursting at the seams with quality titles at the moment, being easily overshadowed by both the Xbox One and Wii U.  I think Sony fans just don't have a lot to talk about right now.  They'll be back in force when their exclusives start showing up, though, and I'd particularly say Uncharted 4 is bound to bring some Sony fan peak activity around here... And it'll probably be about Uncharted 4's graphics

The forum is a mess to load, huge signatures (including mine), lost of ads, bad moderation from the console warfans...
I for one dont consider VGChartz a good place to keep a conversation.

People change, move on, and grow up. It could also be the painful amount of antisocial know-it-alls and sudden fanboy bandwagoners.

Maybe your overall outlook on the wii u over the past year has changed in it's favor, despite it's lower than ideal sales but not everyone else's opinion on it. If anything, the majority of people's outlook on the wii u has gotten worse over the year. It lost it's place to the xbone on total sales and it's been selling horribly compared to the ps4 and xbone. Both of those things are factual. Of course, if you don't mention those then it seems to be doing alright.

I suspect that sony fans are busy playing games and so they spend less time on forums or the net. :D
