So after reading the article that Sega has had major layoffs and no longer doing home consoles makes me think about Sonic. I think can be revived if don correctly, go back to your roots and make him a traditional 2D platform like Nintendo did with New Super Mario Bros on the Wii, bring in a new genration of fans and bring gamers like me with memories of the good ole days.

Remember on the GameCube and N64 Nintendo did not make a 2D platformer and we went 10 years without one until NSMB and it was time to bring it back and it worked(check the sales). 

Now it's time for my point I STRONGLY think Nintendo should buy the rights to Sonic from Sega and bring back a traditional 2D platform to bring life back to Sonic. I think would do well with that Nintendo Seal backing it will give Nintendo another IP

Nahh, Nintendo shouldn't waste their money on Sonic at all. Nintendo already has their key platformer and they have done veryyy well to keep him alive and feeling fresh! Heck, both Mario Galaxy and Galaxy 2 has 97 meta, Nintendo doesn't need sonic at all nor do they need another platformer.

If Nintendo wants to buy anything, they should just buy Altus and leave the rest to die

Sonic was always shit, his best game is Racing Transformed =P

I'm gonna say that they'll still have at least one other "AAA" Sanic gaem by 2016, since it's the 25th anniversary n' shit, I think. If that happens Sanic is going out with bang, we can't say if the bang will be because of that game ACTUALLY being great (which won't happen), or by it being an '06 level atrocity, anyway, it'll be funny to see either way so that's irrelevant.

I'd be inclined to agree with this if I thought the Alien and Bayonetta IPs weren't worth purchasing. Other than that, I pretty much agree that Atlus is the only major thing SEGA has to offer.

I didn't know so many people disliked the Sonic games. I feel a bit surprised to be hones. The first three games in the series I have nothing but love for, they are great platformers, and especially the 2nd one.

On topic, I believe that Nintendo could actually turn this into a successful franchise again, but as other have stated Nintendo doesn't really need it.

I think that MS would benefit more from a purchase, they would have a pretty strong IP for a platformer, most people know of Sonic since before. But if MS could make Sonic good or not I don't know. But perhaps Rare could work on both Banjo and Sonic.

Sony also don't really need Sonic, but I think they could do a good job with the franchise as well.
