Forums - Sony Discussion - Is no red PS4 Bloodborne bundle in EU/US a wasted oppurtunity?

Apart from Uncharted, Bloodborne is probably the biggest game launching on PS4 this year. It has the potential to appeal to all Souls fans and in all territories - EU, US and Japan.

It's the game people know and love - but with a much more gruesome style, and darker setting. It's blood for pete's sake.

A bundle that is more than the standard Game+Black Console is so depressing. Hell, I know people with 2/3 3DS' just because they were tempted by the cool customisations.

You can't 'limited edition' everything (Unless your name is Far Cry 4 and in UK) but BB already has a fanbase, has the advantage of being a new Blockbuster IP (Which have done well so far this gen) and from a dev you know is good for it.

It can sell many thousands of PS4 units, and a limited edition bundle with the Blood red style, the dripping red artwork, will just push the sales further for the hardware.

There is a bloodborne bundle planned for the EU:

Still no word on US, but if they don't do a US bundle I would say it's a wasted opportunity.

Edit: Sorry, glazed over the "red" in the title, been a long night, just ignore me.

Bundles are always a good thing.

Bloodborne is not really that big of a game. A bundle is welcome, but the game will not sell very well.
Red console is just overkill, I understand Japan as they tend to like those customized things more, but I doubt that many in the west would opt for such an ugly and intrusive looking box.

How can a box be intrusive?

"Intrusive looking".

Most TVs and video/audio components are black, some white, some gray, and are housed in black or white furniture.

And all of a sudden you have this blood red box amidst all that... It stands out, but not in a positive way, it's screaming at you with unsubtlety and bad taste.

I don't know if it's worth making bundles for such a niche game.

I think its not worth making bundles for north america, bloodborne on the US pre order ranks 12 for example. In germany it ranks third place on amazon, the expensive nightmare edition by the way. I think bloodborne will sell in europe and japan the most thats why this game is a system seller for these regions.

So yeah if people are willing to spend 120€ on a collertors edition than they sure wont mind buying the whole system for this game

The sales
Of this game will be far from niche

You get higher profit margins for EU and UK. Sony is genius for this.
