Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Expert thinks Nintendo + Disney

I don't see why those things couldn't work in the form of a partnership rather than a merger or acquisition by Disney.

Oh wait... this is another thinly disguised "Nintendo should become a third party" opinion.

Haha. I was going to suggest a partnership as well.

How about some Nintendo content in Disney Infinity, by using amiibo...

That idea is actually quite awesome. But this'd only work if it's exclusive to the Wii U version of Disney Infinity.

I don't think that merger would work well. The analyst here doesn't seem to recall the difficulty Disney had with Disney Interactive for a such a long time -- it only became profitable once Disney Infinity hit the market. Disney, being the larger company, would want to direct business and development as they wish, but they may not be mature enough in working with gaming to successfully manage Nintendo's hardware and IP.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Well, Disney owns Pixar. I can't really see how Pixar making Nintendo IP movie would not benefit Nintendo.

Yes becasue they are so good at working with others, though they single handidly drove majority of the games away from their platform.  Im sure they will just play well with others now.

They are going 3rd party, business economics demand they do or they will die.

Mushroom Kingdom Hearts on Wii U 2.

Disney should NOT acquire Nintendo.

However, a simple partnership in the form of a Mario, Zelda or Metroid movie would do wonders and it'd be a massive success for both parties.

Yep acquisitation by US company, like we need more US infuence in what people watch and play, it also didnt turned so good for studio ghibli this partnership with disney or what ever they had, last film by miyazaki was in 2013

The wind rises was influenced by disneys involvement? Oh lawd.. That movie was awful... Such a self-centered mess on miyazakis part.. Tell us a good story, instead of sharing your airplane-fetish on the world and expecting us all to be in awe...

Disney has distribution and voice acting rights to most Ghibli films in North America. Disney has no involvment in their development. Without Disney's help the only successful anime films in the US box office would be based of off franchises.

I just want Nintendo pixar movies and I'd be complete

It makes sense that NIntendo and Disney would cooperate on movies, but a merger would kill the Nintendo-brand
