Anyone thinks Nintendo buying Sega would be a good move?

So, they are going to ruin Atlus?

No.  At least, it's not ideal.

Having Sega go bankrupt and Nintendo buying their IP's wholesale and absorbing their dev teams(including ATLUS? not sure) would be.  Single out the best dev teams Sega has and cut the fat; demand quality from them with their games.  That's what I'd like to see.

It's a similar prospect with Capcom.  That company has some of the most prestigious IP's period.  But the suits they're attached to don't know their head from their ass.  Anyone, not limited to but especially Nintendo, to get those IP's would explode with money, at least on paper.

I only care about one thing: is Atlus affected by this? Sega can go to the devil, but Atlus-games only on mobile would be a big loss.

I agree so much, and why the hell sega buying atlus for go pc or mobile game not even 1 years after...

I love that kind of business speak to try to pass the pill of getting rid of people:

"The Group also plans to rightsize employees, including fixed-term employees."

Not that I think they should keep people on staff no matter what, it's just the double speak language they use when they do this, I guess this is why you pay people to do PR.

Yeah I'll go with what your said :P I'd just like to see Nintendo get its hands on some Sega IP's (though they're not many) but at least Sonic produced by a Nintendo team would be very benficial imo.

So is this good or bad news for Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem?

I think it's a mutual thing. Nintendo focuses on gameplay is different than Sony's for instance. Last two consoles was more about the interface (the controller) rather than building the gameplay mechanisms by exploiting the power of the consoles so I wouldn't say that the software is just a reaction of the console (though the Wii U game pad seems a forced gimmick up to now).

Nintendo should buy Atlus from Sega before its too late. That and the Bayonetta IP. Then between those two acquisitions they will be set on games for a while.
