whoa, whoa don't trash talk the best game on the Wii U.

the worst game on Wii U.

I'm pretty sure that there's worse games on the Wii U than Wonderful 101 (not that I'm calling it a bad game, cycycychris).

the best game on Wii U without counting the others.

Fixed your spelling error :)

Now it´s fixed.

Nice!

Dont see any mentions of Pikmin 3... probably my favorite for the console..

Agree, I also like matte devices.

It's an ergonomic mess, though. They should have shaped it as closely to the Pro Controller as possible and made it no bigger than the Vita.

The final gamepad design is pretty ergonomic, remember that when announced the gamepad was leaning towards the tablet side rather than ergonomics.

I still think they should have gone with the prototype. In the end, there would always be people who complain about it if they went one way or the other, and those people would always have the Pro controllers.

I don't think that would have been wise. It looks like its using 2 slide pads. A day of bayonetta 2 or Smash and that thing would have fallen apart. The final design with the dual analogs is sturdy, light, and comfortable for long sessions. I really think its the best controller Nintendo has made.

That's ergonomics, but don't you think the first one looks more appealing, let's say to the general public?

The final product was made for ergonomic reasons, and because third parties wanted real dual analogs.
Where are the third parties now?

They should not have gone with either. The gamepad is erganomic in spite of it's shape. It's as comfortable as a tablet shaped controller reasonably could be, but it's not as comfortable as a controller with a screen in general reasonably can be. Far from it.

The amount of people that would have complained that it didn't feel like a pro controller if it was specifically made to feel as comfortable as and be shaped like a pro controller would be practically none existant.

Easiest and less risk solution would have been to do a WiiHD with pro and wiimote compatibliity, but we return to the Gamecube, hence the risk decision Nintendo took to try and go with the Gamepad.

You think a WiiHD would have sold better? Could be, we will never know. But the WiiU also feels to me like a test, a transition between handheld and home consoles. They had to try.

My main gripe would have been with the dual slide pads. Its not sturdy enough. I could do either way with either design, but I do know that the design it has now feels great for me.
