Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Finally got a Wii U!

Congratulations! I hope you enjoy all the gsmes. If I can make a suggestion, Zombie U and Wonderful 101 are very cheap in a lot of stores.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Welcome to the family! I recommend getting MK8 with the DLC tracks. You'll never be hurting to find a match. I also suggest Captain Toad and SM3DW. Great games that show how pretty games can be on Wii U.

Congrats! I agree, I hate the glossy finish. As someone who travels very often, the Wii U gets scratched way too easily.

Welcome to the dark side!

Either one would be a great choice! MK8 and Smash are two of my favorite Wii U games.

Gamepad takes time to getting used to, but I enjoy it for the ff tv play. Would still like to be able to access the settings without it though.

Hope you enjoy, it's got some amazing looking games on the horizon and in it's library.
Some recommendations:

Mario (MK8, 3D World)
Wonderful 101
DK
Lego City
Bayonetta 2

You havent encountered the best benefit of the gamepad yet them? I.e dual screen functionality. Like in lego the hobbit or black ops two. Player one on the tv player 2 on the gamepad. The gapad grows on you to the point of not being able to play without it.

get donkey kong.

Thanks for the reminder! I forgot all about that. I need to get it in a couple of hours when my paycheck kicks in!

lol. Yeah, I was up at midnight last night, hoping it would be up already. I've had the date circled for awhile now. The weirdest thing is, for some reason, it's a 7GB file. I really didn't expect that considering the first two were on Gamecube and those discs could only hold, what... 1.5GB at most? I doubt the first game maxed that out so I don't know where all that size is coming from.

Never the less, I'm in MP heaven right now!

Here in Europe, they put it on the eshop in the afternoon. When I woke up, I ran boot my Wii U to download it & there was nothing... I was really pissed, but later on, it magically appeared on my screen!!! So nice to play Prime with Wiimote controls :D

So true, I hope they keep it for next console, like, if you have Nintendo next handheld, it becomes your gamepad, ortherwise have a new sexy better screen gamepad on sale for people without Nintendo next handheld. Also I hope they don't make it mandatory for every game so people that don't want to play with it, don't have to, make a few games that use it really well & it should be ok. Since most games have off tv play, it shouldn't be difficult for Nintendo to have most games being playable on the TV only!
