Forums - Sony Discussion - next ps3 price cut?

Yeah, I really think that Sony could kick start the PS3 in a big way if it can somehow get it to 149$, I completely understand why they are not willing to do that right now but it is going to effect its' legs. At one point I thought I could climb as high as 100 million lifetime (more realistically, 90-95) but that seems impossible now. Obviously they will cut it significantly at some point but I think it will be too late to drive late console sales they way they have been able to do in the past.

Yeah most of us made those predictions with a few price cuts by now in mind. Obviously they've been happy sitting on that price point for longer than we expected.

PS3 sells for $200, sometimes $180 at its cheapest. I suggest Sony sell new Super Slim 12GB models for $150

Sounds ideal.  I heard from somewhere that they could budle it with 3 months of PS+.  Is that true?

8GB with 2 games. The 32GB version is 299€ now, sometimes 269€

Ah. And I meant 300, not 1300. lol

I didn't even cop that typo!

Oh and here's heads up if you live in the US: Walmart is selling off the 12GB slim for $159 for the President's day online event.

If you don't mind the lack of storage, grab it while it's hot.

Now I don't know much about manufacture costs so correct me if I'm wrong, but if they cut down the price it might mean that they're selling at a loss, which I don't think Sony seriously needs to do. They're more concerned about steady profit with great software sales..
