Forums - Gaming Discussion - Witcher 3 on consoles = possible casual gameplay according to Gamespot

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lo6k92xVXUk

Such sound logic from guys who played the Witcher 2 on the PC and Xbox 360. I swear this PC arrogance has to stop. Just because a game is on consoles it doesn't mean its always being dumbed down for a mass audience. Was Dark Souls dumbed down when it was ported to PC? I seriously cannot understand this logic. I guess possible difficulty settings escaped them as well. I wonder if the Witcher 2 on the 360 seemed casual to them. The devs , themselves, had even stated that the game would be larger and more challenging than the last. If the Witcher 2 was casual, then I might understand, but it wasnt.

The writing was on the wall that the Witcher 2 was coming to consoles once they form fitted the gameplay for controllers. This is one of the reasons why I wanted a high end PC in the first place until I heard it was being ported to consoles. The game looked like a console game that was meant to be played with a console controller. I love that control scheme that it had and Witcher 2 did not disappoint at all.

Dark Souls was hardcored up when ported to PC. Was a lot harder to play with 30fps for people who are used to 60fps.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Previous games were already "casual".. it's a very, very simple series.

The PS3 version runs at ~5fps, so they are still filthy casuals to me.

60fps= Hardcore confirmed.

Thats very true, and im not even talking about Demons Souls or Bloodborne, there is a lot of games (japanese in particular) that can give you quite the challenge, Vanquish for example is CRAZY in high difficulties, and those challenge room, those f#cking chanllenge rooms...

I wouldn't even Dark Souls is that hard though, not really anyway. Alot of its difficulty was found for me, because of the environment and because I wasn't prepared, and some weird things the game does, like auto tracking projectiles, actually even if enemies are in mid-air they autotrack, or stuff like enemies not being able to hit each other. By the 3rd playthrough I was pretty fine, and by the sixth I was breezing through. Could be helped with better AI, and more dynamic situations. Maybe the Witcher 3 has that. Or in Vindictus, where the bosses may inherit different traits when you fight them or something

Never played Witcher though, so can't compare the combat or various systems behind the curtain to Dark Souls. I do have the game, well Witcher 2 anyway(got it free from GoG). Not being able to change the main character's appearance is putting me off the game as I have no interest in the main character at all and I really don't want to play as him.

Yeah how can anybody think the witcher was hard on pc.
besides navigating through the game crashing areas of course.
