Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Creators Program launches for YouTube, currently in beta

Cool! This program should certainly help a lot of Nintendo centric youtube channels. Hopefully it goes well

I have a feeling many people will consider this a greedy move by Nintendo, and that they should just let people freely do what they have already been doing rather than taking ad revenue from their own creations.
I personally would need to see more on how this works out before I will say if this is really a good move.

Way too early to tell if this will be a good or bad thing, but it being in beta gives hope that they'll take out all the kinks.

The have not included smash or pokemon in the program... I suppose they want to iron out the kinks before targeting the bigger youtube communities.

Such BS.

Not only is Nintendo stealing a chunk of your money, but they're going to give you the chunk of money they didn't steal two months after you put the work in. This is some American Industrial Revolution levels of corruption.

Look this is great for general fan vids and streams that fall into grey areasbut they need to just outright stop flagging journalism and reviews. Those clearly fall under fair use and they have zero right to flag that material.

Thats more of a problem with Youtube's terrible Content ID system than anything on Nintendo's end...

That doesn't look too bad. It certainly is a step in the right direction.
Not the best thing ever, but a huge improvement over where we were 2 years ago.

Nintendo can decide what is and isn't flagged.  The bot system is a stupid idea, but that doesn't mean Nintendo can be lazy with it or abuse it.

It's not great. Google already taking 45% then your network takes ~15% of what's left and now nintendo will take another 40% of what's left. You will be looking at making as little as 25 cents per 1000 views. This will not encourage many full time youtubers to start covering nintendo games again and you would need to be a massive youtuber to do nintendo games full time.
