dpmnymkrprez xstonexcold316x dedoslav BenKenobi88 ssj12 All of you, i assume that you mean that one GALLON cost's that much over there ? And i also assume that one U.S.(liquid) gallons is about 4.4 liters ?

 you talks funny

but seriously yes 1 gallon no idea tho how many liters

1 US gallon = 3.7854118 liters Here in southern Minnesota its $3.20/gallon of 87 octane. So that would be $0.85/liter 1 € = 1.3488 US$ 1 US$ = 0.741399763 € So one liter of crap 87 octane is 0.63€ (if i did the math right?)

I don't know about you guys (in the US), but in Australia petrol is about 40% tax. State tax, Federal tax, etc... We also have the highest ratio of road distance vrs population in the world - so our roads are the most expensive to maintain (per person).

So in Finland gas is 1.349€/Liter Then it would be 5.11€/Gallon So in the US it would be $6.89/gallon I should not complain that Minnesota is getting a tax increase of $0.05/gallon

In the USA there is a $0.50/Gallon Federal tax, then it changes state to state with there states taxes.

Im going all out here. lmao The average salary in the U.S. is around $32,000 a year. The rule of thumb is 33% will go to taxes, medical, and retirement. So the U.S. has around $21,500 of disposable income. That would be about 16,000€ of disposable income of the average U.S. citizen. The average salary in Finland is around €21,025 a year. That would work out to be about $28,000 a year. I have no clue on what the disposable income would be but your already making less. Along with higher gas prices in Finland it looks like you are getting the shaft.

I myself earned a bit over 32000¬ last year, and my tax % was 26.5 (progressive and varies between town/cities), including 1% (or 1.6?) for being a member of the church, then you can add approximately 6% for retirement payments, union fees and social/healthcare, so that makes 32.5%. Then you count out expenses, for example what you spend for travelling between work and home, and if i recall i had about 2500¬ expenses, so my income was about 29500¬ , which is my "offical" income. So my disposable income are about 19900¬ , around 26000$. Numbers between countries varies a lot depending what do you count in, so they are not 1:1 comparable. Before my wife left from work for maternal vacation in 2004, she was earning 19000 (gross) a year by making burgers. Btw. A couple of years ago Washington Post (?) calculated, that average of 44.5% from persons gross income in US, is spent to what you pay in Finland in taxes (including social and healthcare fees). In the US, you have long weeks and short vacations, but in exchange, you have better salaries and everything is cheap around there. If i recall, the gasoline tax in Finland is 68 cents and then theres 22% VAT (compared to US 2-8%). But if you say that gasoline is expensive around here, you shoud find out how much cars cost.

Yeah, I was just useing averages with both the U.S. and Finland. You and your wife seem to be doing good over there. The average over here is $32,000. But I work my ass off and make nearly $50,000. I also know alot of people who seem to have worse jobs then me and they only take in 25,000. I think its all about what makes you comfortable and happy (at least at home). Well with the gas price I hear you guys over there use a much cleaner burning fuel witch costs more to refine.
