Some good news though Tbone, the EU very clearly exceeded Bamcos expectations as it completely sold out and was fetching silly prices way above RRP until they did a reprint.
However we don't know how small the initial run was.

So, both Tales and Kirby didnt impress.
Namcoannounced they sold 400k, but maybe that was with digital? I dont know if Xillia 2 got a digital launch aswell, but this opening week is certainly not impressive. Its in-line with most of the PS2 releases but its certainly a decline from the Xillia games.
This leads me back to the conclusion that the classic 2D combat system is more popular. All the great selling titles in the series had that combat system.
As for kirby, its a budget game, just like toad. It seems that that kind of game doesnt find a big popularity with the japanese though.
Those Tales of numbers are bad, and those X1 numbers are just laughable.
Tsutaya's Report
- As it was expected, Devil Survivor 2 is the most sold game of the week.
- Far Cry 4 for PS4 sold better than expected and some shops faced stock problems. With enough stock the game could have topped the ranking.
- BladeStorm sold well too.
- PS4 started to increase due to anticipation for Dragon Quest Heroes at the end of February.
- Tsutaya expects PS4 hardware to increase from now until the awaited launch.
PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m
Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m
Thanks small. Great news btw. Japan gonna really contribute to ps4 hardware and software worldwide over the next few months.
Bladestorm sure doesn't look like it has sold well on either COMG or Tsutaya =/

It's part of the Warriors brand, I don't think it's exactly niche.
The first game seemed to have disappointing sales too, though.
