Everyone shouldn't be obligated to continually see disparaging posts from an individual. If there was a block/ignore feature it would not negatively impact you at all. You could just not use it. For those of us that don't come on here to see the "a-holes", we could use the block feature. Then everyone is happy (except, potentially, the trolls/"a-holes" who are then aren't getting attention).

Censorship (simplified) is suppressing what someone is saying. The ability to block/ignore isn't censoring that individual. They can still say what they want to say. The block/ignore feature would just let people ignore who they want to ignore. The person that is baiting/trolling/etc does not have a right to make sure everyone sees him/her baiting/trolling/etc. Nobody is being censored.

I am a member on GameFaqs forums. They have the ability to block/ignore a user. If another user quotes that user you will still see what they say, but there is a lot less baiting/trolling/etc to see if you can block/ignore the user. It isn't pointless. You're still restricting the initial comment, and you can't quote the comment unless you unblock/unignore, or unless you reply to someone else's quoted comment (but that would be silly).

Which reminds me, does anyone know how the IRL adblock is coming along? I heard that the developers have made significant progress since their latest update.

Lmao. I had no idea this was even a thing. I think they should incorporate this into Google Glass.
