Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Rumor: New 3DS to stream Wii U games!

While this would be awesome, I doubt it'll happen. But if it's true, I'n gonna buy a New 3DS.

For this (potential) feature? The GamePad that comes with every Wii U has a bigger screen, higher resolution display than the 3DS, and is more comfortable to hold for long play sessions.

Wow, hope this is true!

I mean, that's neat and all, but if you have a Wii U you already have a GamePad, so... so... why?

Chances are that about ~40 million 3DS owners don't have a Wii U.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Wouldn't the resolution be much too low?

Need something off Play-Asia? http://www.play-asia.com/

I can't imagine this happening. Although it wouldn't be a bad replacement for a gamepad if it gets destroyed. I thought the new codec was so that it could play youtube videos and the like?

This is not about streaming Wii U games from the internet. It's about streaming Wii U games from a Wii U within 20 feet of you.

I want the other way around to be possible too

Switch!!!

This several games you wouldn't even be able to read the HUD, you can't just downscale a 1080p game to the 3ds and expect everything to be legible when it wasn't made with such a low resolution in mind. It's like playing some ps3 games on an SD tv, you can't even read the font.

I don't think it's true and with already having the gamepad doing remoteplay far better than the 3ds ever could there's no need for it.

Instead of substituting the gamepad, it would be more interesting if the TV screen was on the top screen while the gamepad on the touchscreen. Then you could play WiiU games DS style.
