American folks like to watch American biased war movies.
Japanese folks like to buy Japanese made consoles.
Canadian folks only eat maple syrup made in Canada.

Do you realize this movie is based on a novel, right?

 

There's no point in calling the movie lying propaganda. It should be redirected to the original material.

Every older person I know wants to see this, huge among 40+ people. Some places still have shows sold out.

American Sniper is one of the 1st truly succesful movies based on the Iraq/Afgan wars.  Most of them have been favorably mentioned by the critics, but mostly non-factors at the box office.

I have yet to see the movie, but the messaging in the ads seems to be selling the human side vs the usual combat side.  THat seems to make people gobble up war/conflict story lines.
