Hurray! Someone owes me an apology. It's almost as if they erased it from the web to make the screenshot more exciting at their SE party.

some overhyped guy thought, that this pic was ingame, big deal. the difference only in hair, mostly. :)

you have to remember back at E3'06 the game was like 3% done? so now it has to be like... 40% - 60%? so graphics have to have improved and will greatly improve after final polish.

Yes, FFXXII was looking good. And still, it was a dissapointment.

To me, the qualities of a J-RPG are : story, characters, evolution system and battle system.

Story was average, not really involving.

Characters were just lame and empty. Nothing interesting about them. All the moments that were supposed to create some emotion (Batlhier & his father, Fran & her sisters, Basch and his brother...) failed.

The licence system plainly sucks. No logical constraints (masterising Fire4 w/o Fire1, 2 or 3 ? no problem !) but many stupid constraints (going from Dagger 3 to 4 ? Learn Spears and 2 other unrelated wepons skill first). Bunch of useless skills. By the end of the game, all characters are alike. Sucks.

Fighting system : copy from KOTOR, which means quite good, and Gambit was a great idea. However, the randomness of special attacks and useless invocation were a bad move.

A dissapointment.

I really hope they'll correct that with FFXIII but I have a doubt.

I'm still mad I had to look through the internetz to find this pic to prove it existed before a few days ago. I'm not dissing the graphics at all...it looks amazing. But it's old! I win.

Hey, when Gamespot, IGN, and Kotaku show that picture and claim that it is brand new, kind of diminishes your credibility of "Well, I seen it before but I can't find it." You were right, I was lead by misinformation, which is shocking that 3 big gaming web sites got it wrong.

An apology? I don't think one is warranted.

 even if there was a picture similar to it, this is an updated version which means its new.

Also like I said.. the game has to be around half way complete.  

But I did find it! Look at those links! Granted, the highest res one is from April, but still! I did find it. And I'll just say, I remember it being on Google...but clearly they took it down, but that's not the point. It got spread around on sites like DeviantArt almost a month ago...the same res as that "updated version."

Yes, my favorite FF's were IV and VI, so I guess graphics aren't nearly as important to me.  Actually, I started to get turned off by the overblown drama of cutscenes and summons in VII (2 UNSKIPABLE mins for Knights of the Round?  C'mon!).  What I'm saying is, I don't understand people going all crazy for an FMV pic, when it's the GAMEPLAY that really counts.  Guess the PS3 is just a fancy DVD player after all. . .  [ducks]
