Ever since the Atari, through the NES, into the Genesis, onto the PlayStation, and now on XBOX's everywhere, there have been offensive games. CoD, GTA, Battlefield, and pretty much anything with any form of shooting or blood are notorious for their offensive influences. Parents, anti-game protestors, and radically religious people cannot stand violence in video games and believe that it leads to terrible events like school shootings, terroristic attacks, and overall violent acts, but the gamers care less. The question here is, if Virtual Reality becomes a mainstream thing, could seeing these acts of violence up close possibly start a revolution among gamers? I mean, there's a distinct difference between looking at your television from 20ft away and actually killing an animated figure in true first person. Also, graphics will improve and become more realistic, so either people will become super desensitized or probably not care.

Nah. If anything, it will make people more into violence. People love the shock value. It's like going to see a horror movie in theaters.

Yeah right, gamers will get tired of violence.
This is like saying that watching too much porn makes you dislike sex...

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

No, I really doubt it.

If anything, I can see it fueling it

I would bet that it increses it. It will cause far more distance from reality , and as you said desensitized so they won't care, it will blend together. Graphics haven't really had too much infleuence over how much people get into games, however drugs often do, and unfortunately many people use both together for enhancement.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
