The amiibo party mode is similar to the traditional style.

Unfortunately the boards are tiny and very basic.... as in just a square.

Yeah. :/ It's better than nothing, though. Maybe they'll give us some more complex boards as DLC eventually.

Oh yeah with those boards as if it were a real boardgame. I thought that looked pretty promising actually .

I thought so too! I like that there's a few different modes to choose from. Adds some variety.

Maybe they just really want that Mario amiibo??

I think the added Amiibo in the bundle makes it more appealing. It got me to pre order one at least....

Mario Party has always been a successful franchise for Nintendo. People who have been saying it will bomb and do nothing for Wii U are just ignoring the facts. it won't pull MK8 or Smash numbers and bump, but it will do well.

I'm sad. This sends a message that the sub par style of game play is okay and Nintendo will continue in that direction. RIP classic Mario Party.

What is different with MP10? To me it looks like the usual mini game mayhem. Is it the 1v4 games that are the trouble?

Nintendo should make a compilation of all the old minigames on Wii U and 3DS, very much like NES Remix.
...or sell each minigame for $1, so you can pick your favourites.

If technically possible they should try to put it on mobile platforms also. You could have small mini games battles with your family and friends on the mobile.
Mario Party is fun in short bursts, I never understood the need for the boardgame personally.

The board game, instead of allowing players to move individually, requires all players to stay in the same cart and completely changes the traditional Mario Party style from 1-8.

I think that amiibo collectors are on this due to the fact that there's....well, a new amiibo to collect.
