I feel that the best hardcore games this gen, Brawl, Kart, MP3, Zelda, are all on the Wii, and so there and my PC is where I have gamed most of my "hardcore" games, while my PS3 hasn't seen much action.

Gee if you are a hardcore Mario and Zedla fan then Wii is a no brainer. I mean what choice do you have?

I like some of Big N games (Zelda) if given the choice I would preferred them on a more powerful system. ( as with all single player games) That's because I'm hardcore so stuff like resolution and sound quality matters to me. Now to play party games (wii sports for example) while higher resolution with split screen is a huge plus I don't mind the game being on the Wii.

From what I've seen, ps3 is the most hated console.

@ZenfoldorVGI, LOL.
you sounded like pissed Wii fan. =))

hardcore choice? yeah.. =))

Pissed at what, lol? I didn't read anything negative about the Wii over there. :P

I really dunno what your talking about. I just believe the site was pro-Sony cause of the VGChartz hate. I have long ago come to terms that some people who have never played the Wii, hate it. It doesn't bother me. I'm just commenting on how funny it is that people hate the Wii because its won the sales race, and last gen couldn't care less about Nintendo.  Expand on what you mean, cause I'm not sure I understand. What am I pissed about?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I wouldn't buy the wii because theres not enough games to last enough hours that i play it.

for instance, theres no shooter i can play for weeks online. theres no way i can get addicted to getting my kill death ratio better.

now i would have fun playing zelda, smg, and metroid, but after i beat them i wouldnt really play the console.

yea its fun, its just that to be my main console it doesnt have near enough stuff to sustain my gamer lifestyle.

So hardcore gamers care about resolution and sound quality when they choose their gaming?

I think that's wrong, and not and intelligent observation.

I personally think of a hardcore gamer as someone who, if he was stuck on a desert island, would draw a game in the sand and play the hell out of it.

I think the games, not the gaming potential of a piece of hardware, are what draw hardcore gamers in, and I believe that most "hardcore" gamers that are substantially aged have played most of the early Nintendo games, and still hold a requisite place for them in their hearts, and when they hear that the second highest reviewed game ever created is a Wii exclusive and  Mario game, those hardcore gamers find a way to play it.

But maybe that's just me.

When I referring to a hardcore gamer I'm surely not referring to a football player.

You sound like an "online shooter" kind of guy. Let me suggest buying a Wii as a second console, because otherwise you'll miss out on some of the best reviewed and most popular experiences of this generation.

I have a PS3 as my second console, to play things such as MGS4.

My rule, if you got a good game for every 50 bucks the system cost, that you want to play, you got a legitemate reason to own it, and you can justify the expense. So, at 250 bucks, when 5 games come out you really, really want to play, start saving, imo.

I think the meaning of my comments has eluded you.

I consider myself a hardcore fan, and i love the wii.

i do like shooters, but i dont like them as much as you think.

i just wish the online play of teh wii were up to par. even if its just a racing game, i like to play my games for a long time so i actually get their value. i.e. after i beat the singleplayer i want there to be more to do (not in all games obviously, games like uncharted are good with just singleplayer. I would however like SOME games to have multiplayer.)

if i did buy a wii, i would beat zelda and smg and a few others and then what would i have to do?

I just dont think they have enough of the good/ decent games to keep me interested.

they have the few great games that i would play, but not the 3rd party games like call of duty 4,

a decent baseball game,  assassins creed, those type of games that you can play on ps/360/pc.

and all those 3rd party type games go along with all the great first party exclusives, so wii would never be enough.
