It's always hilarious when you people mistake "pre-rendered in engine" with "real time gameplay".

Not as funny as thinly disguised trolling. Can we perhaps actually enjoy a thread about a Sony exclusive. It would make a refreshing change.

As long as the AI companion isn't stupid, or largely immobile, or overpowered. AI companions should have a dynamic effect on the game and not just be there for banter and to take out the odd enemy. A bit like in TLOU they should be able to be threatened by the enemies if they get out of position and Drake should have to come to their aid or you get a game over screen. Similarly if Drake gets caught out of position your companion should be able to help you out of a tight spot.

Who in here did that? I don't recall anyone calling that original trailer "in-game". From the start, it was called: "in-engine". In any event, have you got something that, at least, half way backs you up?

Actually, ND showed that same in engine model working at their Playstation Event talk. The only difference was distance. Clearly a character's face that fills the screen is going to be able to retain more detail than when he moves further away from the screen.

I think this is it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70jVUBnp6lQ

Nice damage control.

By posting these "pre-rendered in engine" videos, you are clearly implying that's what it will look like in game, when that is far from reality. There is no point at all in posting pre-rendered in engine footage, since you will never ever see anything close to that in the game.

Not even going to read your reply.

Stay delusional, and enjoy fapping over pre-rendered footage of Drake.

I'm definitely hyped for it. I really hope it releases this year and isn't delayed (unless of course it is necessary).

That sounds pretty insane! ND always knows how to polish the shit out of their games.

The graphics are severely downgraded from that bullshit "in game" (read: CGI) teaser trailer that ran at 60 frames per second.

Don't have a lot of hope for this game after a lot of the team has left.

Uncharted 2 will always be the best Uncharted.

Man, so much work needed here:

1. The initial trailer was never called in game. It was running on a PlayStation 4 (true), on their engine (also true). It isn't pre-rendered elsewhere.

2. The people most responsible for Uncharted 2's success are working on Uncharted 4 (the same people who lead the most awarded game in history).

3. Uncharted 4 isn't even out. Saying Uncharted 2 will always be the best, without playing anything since Uncharted 3 makes no sense.

That teaser trailer was clearly a pre-rendered CGI trailer.

Amy Henning was most responsible for Uncharted 2's success. The story/writing was the best part of the game, as the gameplay itself while satisfying, was not original or innovative in any way.

Fair point that I haven't played Uncharted 4 yet, and it may well turn out to be one of the greatest games I will ever play. However, as of right now, Uncharted 2 is by far the best of all the released games, and Uncharted 4 is looking like it won't deliver.

Hopefully I'm wrong.

I disagree, Neil Druckmann co-wrote Uncharted 2's story with her. Then he went on to write TLOU and she wrote Uncharted 3 without Neil there to carry her. Now she's gone and Neil's writing Uncharted 4.

Neil Druckmann > Amy Henning

You got it.

I just realised ... Who the hell am I to explain that to you!? *hides in shame*.

Damn, one guy is so mad at Uncharted's awesomeness that he allowed his hatred to get him into trouble. I'm definitely looking forward to this game though. 3 is definitely my favorite. Though many will go with 2 because it raised the bar for the series.
