It always seemed way too high in Europe

no.  spot on.

Not spot on.

Xbone is at around 9-10m sold. It's at 11m shipped, and I'm willing to bet there are more than 1m units rotting away on store shelves and in warehouses.

No, where are you pulling those numbers from, it is about 10.8-11.2 sold and almost 12 million shipped.

Everyone is pulling numbers from out of nowhere because we don't really know.  No one knows but  Its all estimation.  AMD knows how many they produced so they know the absolute maximum that could be shipped.  But outside of that, only Microsoft really knows and they have NOT revealed those specifics.  They keep it convoluted enough for multiple possibilities to be valid.   I hear Sony used to do the same thing.  Thank goodness for the PS4 transparency.  And Nintendo should be commended for always giving proper figures no matter what.

Where are you getting 12 million shipped?

People are GAF are saying 10m sold is absolute best-case scenario for Xbone.

According to VGC and all publocly released numbers, you appear to be correct.

MS quarterly results came out today, the numbers are combined but unless the X360 pulled out some truly astonishing numbers then the numbers VGC has for X1 are likely spot on or within 100-200k either side, it is fair to say at least 500k must be on shelves, so we should be looking at a low of 11.3 shipped with upto 12 shipped.

Heres' the problem with that: VGC has PS4 at 18.5M (public numbers) and outselling X1 by 1.6-1.7M during the quarter. Sony sold 6.6M PS4s during the quarter (public numbers). MS shipped 6.6M X1s and X360s during the quarter (public numbers). VGC has PS4 outselling the X1 by 1.6-1.7M consoles during the quarter. If the VGC is accurate, then there were a total of 1.6-1.7M X360s sold, X1s shipped and not sold, and X360s shipped and not sold during the quarter. Since VGC puts X360 sales around 1.2-1.3M during the quarter, MS sold 6.2-6.3M X1s and X360s during the quarter, with a total of 300-400K X1s and X360s shipped and not sold combined. That's a 96% sell-through, which is insane. If 500K X1s and X360s remained on shelves, then the X1 must be overtracked on VGC. Something is off with their estimates: the X1 is overtracked,  Sony or MS lied in their reports, the X360 is overtracked, or MS shipped barely any X360s.

So x1 overtracked again?

Although it does not suprise me,mainly cuz they did not say anything outside of the US for the big holiday sale. No doubt its been overtracked for a while in ROW, but that boost they put fof the hollidays without any offers on terrritories its been doing awfull the entire year, just dint make sense.

Theres also no way AMD does not know how many chips they made and sent, that 30m has to be precice and we know what sony as sold by jan 3rd. There is no other way of looking at things. X1 overtracked.

When you account for MS' announcement of 6.6M consoles shipped in the quarter, it doesn't seem that it could be any other way (as my post above indicated).
