3. Towns, FF12 had big empty fields with blocks representing masquerading as towns, FF13 didn't have them at all. This is something Xenoblade does way way way better.

I love Xenoblade but the towns in FFXII are better than every town in Xenoblade with the exception of Frontier Village.

Edit: having said that Xenoblade is better than FFXII in every other aspect

What could Xenoblade possibly teach Final Fantasy? It was FF 12 that taught Xenoblade in the first place.

I can't believe how fast this thread turned into console warz. Unbelievable.

Well the competition is real.

Maybe I should have mentioned this in the first post? Now that I think about it that was a large influence on me when I made this thread. - Didn't expect to have such hate.

Read the comment section, lol. The warz continue!!!

I just happen to be in those warz. I think the guy just dropped it once I proved he hadn't played Xenoblade. Wish the same could be said for Fatslob over there.

X 1000000000 this, Xenoblade X doesn't even appear on the last Famitsu most anticiped games chart... japanes gamers aren't even aware of it, Nintendo needs to step up & market the hell of the game, like the Pokemon marketing campaigns, it deserves it!!!

That's because they weren't interested in the last entry ...

How can you judge something you don't know, are you saying that japanes gamers are prejudiced??? Xenoblade didn't sell in Japan, so the vast majority aren't even aware of what the game really is.

Nintendo needs to market the hell of the game, Xenoblade marketing was non existent, so it went unnoticed.

Did you even play those games ?!

Unlike Xenoblade you can actually continuously chain normal attacks in realtime in those games ...

The combat in Xenoblade straight up reminded me of FF XII. Had realtime movement in combat but didn't have the action based combat like a true or pseudo ARPG would such as Kingdom Hearts ...

Can you elaborate on this one?

there is no rivalry between final fantasy and xenoblade

You know, I would point you toward a place where the lead designer of FFXV specifically said it was a competition between the two, but what good would that do right? You ignored it when Samus posted it, what would be different?

By that I am referring to a REALTIME SINGULAR COMBO SYSTEM ...

Just like in Kingdom Hearts or Phantasy Star Online, you can CHAIN attacks in a CONTINUOS manner without having to disrupt the realtime flow of the combat ...

Whereas in FF XII or Xenoblade, your stuck having a DELAY between each attack ...

I love both series but FF should stay FF or it should become FF again since the quality dropped heavily after FF9.

FF should go back to a FF6-9 or Chrono Trigger / Cross style ATB system with round based battles and real summons.
FF should not have 1000 boring fetch side quests, empty overworlds with almost no ways of interaction apart from collecting items and huge balancing issues (which makes most parts of the games too easy but then requires to do 5 hours of grinding in order to be able to beat the final boss) which are the weakest parts in Xenoblade.

But Xenoblade does everything else, especially storytelling and progression quite perfectly and is a much better overall game compared to FF10-13. And is has a soundtrack that is only rivaled by FF6 and Chrono Trigger.

Xenoblade Chronicles is the best JRPG released in the last 10 years by the way and Xenoblade X will easy get a much better rating than FFXV on metacritic.

Not trying to disagree or anything, but you realize that if you do actual quests you won't get a bunch of fetch quests right? I also felt that the world had plenty to do in it. It gave you an actual incentive to explore it, that incentive being experience.
