Forums - Sony Discussion - Possible PS4 slim leaked (Fake)

I can see it happening. With the die shrink, new ram, and if the make the power supply external it could be that small without over heating. It would also cost less to manufacture and it would lower power usage. Wanting to go 'slim' as soon as possible would be in their best interest.

It looks like the PSVITA TV, but with an edge and bigger =D

I like it though

Pocky Lover Boy!

What would be the point in introducing a slim model now?

The system is selling strongly, and it doesn't look set to slow down. It's not as if the PS4 is huge or burning profits, either. I'm calling fake.

I don't doubt there'll be a slim PS4, but Sony don't need one just yet.

Its fake. For sure. How can the PS4 get smaller if chipmanufacturers are still at the 28 nm process. You can not shrink Hardware if there is nothing to shrink. Common sense.

If Sony can get the PS4 slim out before Microsoft released a Slim XBO, it'll give them another advantage.

That would just be icing on the cake.

Lets see if MS can slim the XBO smaller than the original PS4 first because I think that would look sad if they couldn't.

thats so small... dont know if true or not but considering that the PS4 is already smaller than the PS3 slim then that thing is just way too small.

If it include external power supply out of console case, then no problem at all. Man, so tiny kawaii!!

It's impossible to reduce something 120-130% not because of heat or anything else, but solely on maths. You Just closed the case. No 120-130% smaller ps4 slim.

Sorry, it was late here when I made that post last night, wasn't thinking very clearly. Meant to say that the case design has less than half of the internal voulme of the current case. So a 60-70% decrease in internal volume, while the new chipset is only rumored to use about 30% less power. That just doesn't add up for me, maybe if the power supply is external but even then it seems like they'd be risking overheating issues imo.

I was just joking. But yes, seems like less than 50% of original console.

This PS4 anhorexy is too fake.. But a discless PS4Now (with actually lot weaker HW inside) could be this side, like psvita TV.

I think its fake

Found this on Reddit. Based on the standard PS4's dimensions and scaling that down to this supposed PS4 slim a disc wouldn't even fit in the console. Blu-ray discs are 120mm in diameter, the disc tray in the picture is only 84.17mm.
