Keep in mind, some of this is me ranting and venting. I think I need 'emergency venting' ie Aliens.

It sounds very positive that they're really on board to make using an airship possible , but we all know how deceptive SE can be.  And they're masters at it.

Considering Kitase and Nomura already left development of this game(at the same time no less), I'm guessing that based on this information IF there is fully controllable airship, it will not be story-relevant :(

I know it's not definitive that there won't be airships, however I must express my anger here:

FFS!  There were frickin airships dropping off enemies in real time in the FFXV demonstration.  There can be several fully rendered monsters on the screen at once along with monsters much bigger than an airship. How the hell is this a huge technical challenge for them!?

I think they're honestly trying to find the most gentle and polite way as possible to tell us eventually that there isn't a fully controllable airship in FFXV.

They couldn't even meet the 'challenge' of leaving character switching in the game, which now without it makes combos seem less strategic and more random based on whomever is closest to you.

I never had high expectations with this game after FF10-2,FF12 and the FF13 series.Diehard FF fans just keep setting themselves up with disappointment,while I have moved on years ago.

The world isn't even big enough to warrant an airship from what we've seen. Not surprised they aren't in it.

At this point I haven't played an FF game I enjoyed since FFX... I don't particularly care about airships, but the game just doesn't look too interesting anyway.

I don´t understand why the people are hyped about this game. It seems bland.

The characters minus Asha nd Baushe,the story,the empty and linear world,the fact they got rid of the world map,which is what I did not like about FFX,no airships or vehicles to control (chocobo don't count),boring dialogue and the game felt like one big labrynth.

Not definitive if they are in or not, but are you kidding?  The draw distance in that FFXV demonstration was huge. It was a very small portion of the world too according to them.  

You would need some faster way eventually to get across areas considering the size of this game.  Screw fast travel, you'd get around just fine with an airship.

Doesn't sound like the game is coming out this year. I was on the fence about whether it would.

Please don't anybody bring up that other game in this thread, I beg of you.
