Wait, so WW GCN was still available when WWHD was announced?

Yeah, on sites like Amazon and Ebay.

So you mean second-hand copies

Yes. New copies are much more expensive, for obvious reasons.

Back in my days Kirby Canvas Curse was critically acclaimed, now people are telling me its spiritual successor isn't even worth $40. What an age we live in :^)

There is part of Nintendo fanbase that downplays many series of games Nintendo makes. Zelda, Smash, Pokeymons and some others are untouchable while rest are hit and miss as targets depending on mood. They want Nintendo to do good but only on the accord of games they like. Wii series be damned. Weird stuff, imagine Halo, Uncharted and GT getting barely no respect from MS and Sony fans. Even those who don't like those games don't talk about them in negative light.

Just some things i've noticed. No desire to offend.

Now you're kidding, right? C'mon man. You can't honestly hope that Nintendo would sell this game for $10 dollars, can you? At least Nintendo realizes that they shouldn't charge full price for games that are shorter than their usual games.  Just think about it from their point of view. Do you honestly think that 4x as many people would buy this game if it was $10 instead of $40? They are a company that needs to make a profit. They're giving the consumers a deal by not making it the usual $60 dollars. I think it's pretty rare to see that. What other big name developer releases a game at reduced price?

"At least" isn't good enough. $40 isn't worth what this game does and has.

Do I think? I know that more than 4x as many people would buy it. They payed $15 for NES Remix, a game worth no more than $5, like it was Jesus' tears in a bottle. This game would explode for $10-$15. You know what should be $40? Splatoon. Not Rainbow Curse.

I really wish there was a way one of us could be proven right, because honestly, I would bet my left testicle on it NOT selling 4x as many copies at 1/4 the price.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

I couldn't agree more. I seriously have no clue what people are talking about when they say this game is overpriced at $40. Obviously just Nintendo haters.

Anyway, I wouldn't pay $40 for a used copy of The Wind Waker, so clearly overpriced.

I paid 300$ for my copy of WWHD. Nice thing is that it came with a Zelda themed Deluxe Wii U. Never regretted my purchase. =P

The price is too high. Oh well, it won't sell well even if it was $20.

Correct. So then, as a company trying to make money, is the price too high?

Yes, Based on a simple demand and supply model, at $40 the game will sell much less than if it was $20. We already know the game won't sell that much, but at $40, Nintendo are making sure the game doesn't do well.
