Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Mario Party 10 will release at $50!

I'd gladly pay $60 if it had online play, since at my age, I can't have my mates over at my house every damn day. How many wasted iterations of this franchise must we be subjected to before Nintendo realises it's 2015?

No online, No classic mode = no buy. Maybe if it was 40$ but thats a maybe.

when has mario party been anything other than a couch/local multiplayer game? online mario party kind of defeats the whole idea of, you know, a party.

You're right. Why should games ever evolve?

have you played mario party? it's a mini-game collection with a board game aesthetic. tell me, oh tell me, how you can do that online without defeating the whole purpose of its emulating a board game. it's ironic you should say this, tho--how revolutionary was the jump between nhl 2012 and nhl 2013? they must've really shaken things up for that kind of a leap.

What the hell are you talking about? It's a strict board game simulator now? They should remove any single player portion too then because board games aren't meant to be played alone! And that just ain't a party either.

Speaking of that, any board game translated into a video game has successfully had an online portion. Is playing Chess online destroying the whole purpose because there isn't another person across from you?

And your last sentence there is just dumb and not ironic at all, not even going to touch that.

I have to see more of the game to say if 50 dollars is a good price or not. It probably is, though.

$50 makes it better but I'm still not interested...yet

That's awesome! I have a $50 Bestbuy rewards voucher so I know what im using it for =)

Reading other people's comments, I must be blessed. I have my own house and I have friends/family that come over to play Mario Party 9 with me fairly often. We just play the shit out of it and are all excited for me to get the next one. We don't care about needing online feature or whether its the board game style or cart style, we just love the hell out of these party games.

$50 too much.

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

That bundle has a nice appearance. I wish they would pack it with 4 amiibos to look like a boardgame and price it at $75-$85. That would sell to many a mother/father. "Is that a board game? I'd hate to buy them another video game but it looks like a board game so my conscience is clear" :P

They could even up the price to $90, include a board to place your amiibos on and be done with it.

Another cool Idea would be the same board game including 4 amiibos and a board that interacts with the TV through some kind of connectivity with the gamepad, while placing the game pad in the middle as the dice or spinner. Call it "Amiibo Amigos". Then introduce 2 new characters. Mexican versions of Mario and Luigi. Watch that sell.

I've played Mario Party 6 online (using emulator) with voice chat and it was Great. Aslong as you can hear your friends screaming when things go terribly wrong it's an enjoyable experience. I don't need to see their anguish.
