Forums - Website Topics - Another complaint... :|

So I posted a thread in the sales forum about comments made by a company leader about sales of the 360, PS3, and Wii. I then come back to see that it was locked and a mod stating that it's a duplicate of a thread in the Nintendo forum. Now my question is, isn't a news story that talks about sales of all three consoles more appropriate in the Sales Forum than in the Nintendo Forum? And if so shouldn't threads that are placed in the proper forum be kept open if one doesn't already exist in that forum? If someone for example posted a NPD chart in the Nintendo forum should that same chart be locked in the Sales forum if someone posted it there afterwards?

I love you meseteto.

Man, you guys can come up with a cat picture for everything. I am impressed.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I say only lock it if it has a few post. The original post had alot of responces so would rather your shiny new one on the correct forum be locked then lose all the previous responces. Sucks your post got locked but it happens to all of us. I don't think a change is needed with the current policy or the way the mods are handling it.  Basically Original trumps anything.

The correct fix would be to give the mods the power to move a thread into the correct forum and to lock the one that was made second. However, who really cares if your thread got locked.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I don't know the threads in question but the best way to get things done isn't to make a thread about the complaint but to message the mod that locked it directly (assuming you know who locked it).

I know I've locked threads before and the creator messaged me and explained things to me and I unlocked it afterwards. Making a thread like this only causes trouble.

I'm pretty sure Legend knows the proper way to do it by now, I don't think you have to explain it to him. He just likes attention and causing trouble 8).

You're right, I guess you should lock this thread. There's no use complaining about something if the underlying reason of why it happens likely won't be fixed. Until posts can be moved from one forum to another by mods it will just be a problem that I'll have to learn to accept.
