It's losing massive marketshare relative to the 360's gains, so MS certainly think it is. Consoles are selling faster and earlier because of today's early adopter culture, but MS are losing brutally where it counts: Percentage of the market.

What are you talking about? It is already close to the market share 360 had at the end of 7th Gen.

lol, no

More of a missed opportunity.

Yes. Haven't you read the internet?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Too early to tell.

I wouldn't call it failure yet, but it's obviously not the success MS and lot of the press expected.

A lot of people seem to assume that the PS4 and XB1 are the only two systems competing for marketshare.  Fact is the PS4 is eating up the Wii's market share while the XB1 is staying rather stable compared to last gen.

As far as the actual topic goes: the system is not a failure.  It isn't the #1 system in the world, but it isn't a failure.

is that last poll option strictly necessary? like, really?

also, it's not a failure in terms of sales (without comparing it to its main competitor, anyway). financially tho the xbox brand has been a big failure except for the last few years of 360. the reason microsoft is so desperate to get consoles into people's hands is because that's how they ultimately get back on a path to profitability--by selling you games and content, not the console itself so much.

aesthetically all three xbox consoles were ugly as hell, and xbox one is the least appealing of the three (the og xbox comes close, tho). i hope they hurry up with a slimmed-down version so i won't be embarrassed to buy one down the road and hide it behind my tv or something.

Of Course not, PS4 is just selling too strong, that doesn't mean that Xbox One is a failure.

for first year it's pretty good. Also no RROD, which was part of the 360's early life.
