Forums - Sony Discussion - I was wrong...very wrong...I admit it

I admit I was wrong, 7 days before release date... With 2 months to read previews and see videos, a game I thought I'll never play has become my day one purchase, and Borderlands has been pushed onto a discount list.

I hope Bloodborne does great, it certainly seems to deserve it.

Borderlands Remaster containing BL2 and PreSequel has just been announced, and it is being released the same day as Bloodborne (March 24).

My prediction (and my very first thread of this type) is that Borderlands will outsell Bloodborne. BL will be on top that week, and will eventually finish its run ahead of Bloodborne.

My reasoning:

- A well established, popular franchise

- BL2 sold over 2 million on PS3, but PreSequel barely made it to half million. Many fans have obviously moved to PS4 already (along with some X360 users) and will jump on the opportunity to play it now.

- Package includes 2 games and a ton of DLCs, making it a good value.

- Bloodborne is a niche title, loved by hardcore gamers, but inaccessible to the general population

The only thing that could screw my prediction: Japan!

I say:  FW  BL - 400K,  BB - 250K

            LT   BL - 1.6M,  BB - 1.25M

I expect most will disagree, let me have it...

on PS4 alone or XB1 as well?

either way i am gonna say Bloodborne will beat it. too much new games coming out next year for remasters to perform as good as they have been already.

PS4 only, wouldn't be fair to go 2 on 1.

Also, half the package came out when PS4 install base was at about 12-13 million already, so I don't put it in the same basket as other remasters.

Hm, I think Bloodborne could have around 250k sales FW in Japan alone.

Comg pre-orders currently are showing that it will do the half of what you are saying and maybe even lower!

I would bet on Boodborne.

Bloodborne will have Japan advantage

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Huh? What are you talking about?

Comg currently shows it tracking ahead of Dark Souls 2 which opened to 250k in Japan.

I think Bloodborne will outsell Borderlands Remaster.

I don't know anybody that's still playing or remotely interested in the current Borderlands games anymore. Likely just waiting for the sequel.
