Forums - Gaming Discussion - Borderlands coming to PS4/XOne on March 24

The Borderlands series is finally going next-gen — and to celebrate, you can buy a remote controlled version of Claptrap, gaming's most obnoxious robot. Today 2K Games announced the new Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, which will bundle Borderlands 2 and the recently launched Pre-Sequel, along with all of their DLC add-ons, into one package for PS4 and Xbox One. The whole thing will cost you $59.99, a pretty nice discount compared to buying everything individually.

The special edition is limited to 5,000 copies

But for the super fans, the new bundle is also available in a wonderfully ridiculous special edition that comes with a tiny version of Claptrap that can talk and drive around on one wheel, controlled by a smartphone app. The catch is that the special edition is limited to 5,000 copies, and costs a whopping $399. In order to grab one you'll need to pre-order the game at select retail stores.

The new versions of the games include improved performance and graphics, according to 2K, as well as a surprising new feature: four-player split-screen play, so you can do some shooting with buddies on the same TV. Otherwise the games appear to be largely the same as the originals, making this a great place to jump in for those new to the series. However, if you've already started playing one of the games on Xbox 360, PS3, or Vita, The Handsome Edition supports cross-save, so you can pick up where you left off on your new console, and don't have to worry about creating a new character from scratch.

The next-gen bundle is launching March 24th in North America, and March 27th elsewhere in the world.

Hell yeah, Day One for me. So excited for PreSequel, never had a chance to play it.

Woo. Interesting. I've been waiting until the price dropped for PreSequel. Also, if this means that I don't have to give up all my BL2 save data, that's also quite awesome.

Interesting stuff. They need more funds to finally bring Borderlands 3.

I just wonder why they won't include BL1.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

This is good, i never played the pre-sequel and i lost my borderlands 2 save before i could complete it and just kinda never went back

You had me at 5,000 limited edition copies.... My retirement fund needs some monies.

All add ons for both games? Interesting. Might see if some website decides to sell it for £30 and I'll get it.

ACtually, you know what? No. I'd prefer new games for the new gen and it's just buying a game I've already got.

Hmm, pie.

The hell it is. I can get all that for $68 without even trying to look for the best deals. If I really wanted to I could probably get the contents of this collection for under $50

Well, this surprises no-one (although the lack of first game is a bit of a surprise).

I own the first on PC. I was going to buy the Vita version of two because I'm more likely to play a game if it's portable, but I'll probably just pick this up now. I was hoping to see a Vita version of Pre-Sequel but alas.

I just want the pre-sequel, so maybe they can sell them separately on PSN or something. I'd buy it for 30 euro for sure.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

Day 1 for me for sure. Borderlands 1 was one of my favourite games of last-gen and I never got round to completing Borderlands 2 or playing the pre-sequel
