Nothing ridiculous about it; 720p to 1080p is a minor disparity in my view, but 30fps to 60fps is night and day. I am not the only one who thinks so either, many here would agree.

Other people thinking differently only proves my point that its subjective.

Having gamed since the 16 bit era, I don't think any other major consoles have underwhelmed me as much as PS4/Xbone have so far, but that's ok, cos they're not the only options available to me.

It's not surprising that you would go the Wii U route. Everybody who doesn't see 1080p here have a similar taste. But it's an opinion. For me, the most underwhelming consoles were made by Nintendo since the Wii. I want power, I want online features and they are absolutely abysmal in providing this. Right now, I can share any screen or videoclip of my play sessions with anyone. If I do something cool playing online, I have it recorded. Always. For me and for the market, a much bigger innovation than a tablet.

Well, the "minor disparity" sold 8M copies of the next gen version of GTA, so it looks like the majority of people do care.

With your point, we can prove that 30 vs 60fps is subjective too.

Popularity doesn't make a preference any kind of divine truth though. For example, Twilight and Justin Beiber are very popular; I wouldn't go anywhere near them personally, but obviously a lot of other people prefer them, and that's fine. I see PS4 and Xbone the same way. To each their own.

I guess it's to each their own. This discussion isn't leading nowhere. Fortunately, I can see 1080p and 60 fps, but maybe being 20/20 isn't for everyone.

I wholeheartedly agree with these shots but damn.

I have 20/20 vision, verified late last year. I haven't noticed any changes since then, and my opinion on this was the same back then anyway.

I'm just not seeing this major gap in visibility.

Not sure what you're trying to show with that link.

Sorry. I can see the difference in a 40' screen at more than 2m. It's a pretty reasonably sized TV and probably the smallest anyone usually buys (except 32' because they lack room for a bigger set). I have a PS3, where most games are 720p and a PS4, where most games are 1080p, hooked to the same TV, with 2 identical HDMI cables (Monster ones, good quality). I don't have to look close to see the jaggies on the picture.

If you are talking about a 22' TV, something that isn't common because 32'+ TVs have good prices, I've previously played in one and it's terrible to see anything at a distance, so even playing becomes a bad experience. In a normal sized TV (32', 40') at a decent distance (2-3m), anyone who is 20/20 can see the difference because it's clear as water. Even on my PC, with a 22' monitor and sitting at 1.5M, it's easily noticeable.

Saying that you can't spot the difference between 720p to 1080p in these conditions is as ridiculous as saying that you can't differentiate 30 to 60fps. Anyone with a normal vision can.

All i can read in your argument is: I have a huge ass TV so i am ok with them catering to me.

Very well, that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. Dont pass it like its something everyone should agree with and should devalue the importance of FPS in gameplay and performance of a game, something that every gamer regardless of TV can benefit from.

Easy, 60fps/720p. The disparity between 720p vs 1080p just isn't significant enough.

I like a crisp picture, but 60 fps has more impact on how the game feels and responds.

You idea of "huge ass TV" is 40'? It's basically one of the smallest you can get. It's cheap even on Brazil. How can we define a 60' one? Gargantuan? Monster-like?

What's a normal TV? 14'? 15'?
