PS4 and Wii U seemed to maintain the momentum after the holidays. Is this normal?

PS4 sales will only grow, like a snowball rolling down a montain. The more games it gets (both multiplat and exclusives) and the more people buy the console, more and more people will be interested on the thing, just lipe the PS2.

WiiU sales were really small, after its biggest games released and a good year on the horizon, it's not hard to keep the momentum.

It can last for a week or two, but starts dying really fast. Just watch the total sales for the month.

Define "momentum"

The Wii U maintaining a good bit of momentum (example: its performance on Amazon) isn't terribly surprising since it has greatly improved its image vs last year. Plus prices for Wii Us have gone done, especially on Amazon where you can get new ones for roughly MSRP and used ones for ~$250 depending on conditions. This is a big improvement over a few months ago when the dang things were being sold for ~$325 or higher regularly. As for PS4...well the PS4 has the best image of the three, especially after the Assassin's Creed Unity and Master Chief Collection fiascos that MS couldn't have anticipated (fully).
