OK so you speak for everyone got it.  I don't think anyone buys the kinect for hardcore gaming.  It's just a fun peripheral.  I can't wait to hear the opinions about morpheus. Whatever MSFT does people will complain,  1st too much focus on kinect and now not enough.

By the way D4 is great with kinect, I enjoyed fantasia, and I recently bought KSR. These games with the voice commands have made it worth it, for me.

please stop with that nonesense.

kinect is dead because ultimatly MS killed it. how many kinect games were shown at the E3 2014 press confrence? Gamescom? are there more than 10 kinect games out there? serious question.

the problem with kinect is fundimantal. as others said navigating 3D worlds is pretty much a big issue with kinect. and without a nun chuck type controller in hand it has proved to be very problematic. the fact that it still has latency issues renders it unusuable for VR (unless that problem is solved). so as of now, the kinect is dead, it has no good games, nothing on the horizon coming and no real future. the kinect was a dud, it was a very stupid decision from MS to put it with every xbox one. however it shows what MS's orginal vision for the xbox one was, and the audince they targeted. the only saving grace for it is twitch and gameplay streaming, and even for that audince its over priced compared to sony's solution, which can be found for around 40 bucks and basically has the same purpose, but also will be a big part of VR in the future.

MS isnt marketing it, MS isnt making games for it, MS isnt even talking about it. you want to know why all the people who are saying its dead dont have a kinect? because nobody freaking wants one.

Future of Kinect? Past of Kinect

input devices have to be extremely reliable - even 95% reliability will quickly lead to frustration and unfortunately the newest Kinect seems to provide noticeably less than that although it surely is a big step up from the first

Everyone is not some single guy without any friends or some super serious gamer. Kinect is fine for those that enjoy it, just because you don't enjoy it doesn't mean it's dead. What I have found funny is that most of the complaints about kinect come from people who don't have one, heck probably don't even own an XB1.

it's not dead because someone like me likes it or not. it's dead because the market, specifically the xbox market has turned its back on the tech. i'm sure some people love it but the reality is if MS don't give people a reason to love it and make it a must have it's gonna become a forgotten peripheral that costs a lot of money to buy.

It's dead. It's in a similar scenario to Vita's in the west. Third parties don't want to make games for it and Microsoft aren't willing to save it by themselves.

Does it count if I had one on X360? Had it for about a year, out of which I tried to play some games that all sucked more or less (of course, there was Dance Central and Your Shape that did not). Played for a few months, shelved it for the rest, and was happy as a little kid when I managed to get €50 for it.

And this was back when MS actually made games for it. The very fact that so far XOne has 2 retail games in 15 months (one if which is an abomination called The Fighter Within that announced the quality Ubisoft will produce in 2014), and 3 downloadable titles nobody cared about, certainly means that Kinect is dead. And will not be resurrected any time soon.

i think he is speaking from general reception and sales. If it was really that popular as you want to believe why would MS unbundle it? Why are they not even making games for it?

you are correct. i personally wouldn't ever buy a device like kinect or the ps eye.

they are just too simple and not fun enough.

But yes I'm talking about sales and lack of support. True_fan didn't get what I was saying hence his reply was off-topic.

I get 100% what you are talking about, the problem is that you are flawed in your thinking. How do you know hoe many kinects they sell, also if you actually paid attention to XB1 news there have been several recent articles about new teams opening up to expand the kinect experiences. Kinect was unbundled in March, if it was dead would they have stopped shipping those bundles. There were sever kinect bundles selling well over the holidays.

Pretty sure those bundles were just old stock they need to get rid of. Where is the proof that those bundles did well pretty sure most xone sales came from NOT those. Show us these articles. What does expand mean? is it gaming? I havent heard any announcement of any game even using Kinect.

It might come back when they learn how to use it properly. Also, how are there not more light gun/rail shooters for the Wii/Wii U? the Wiimote is perfect for that.
