Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What can Nintendo add to the 3DS' successor?

I was wondering what can Nintendo add to the 3DS' successor cause I can only think of HD screen,2nd proper circle pad and rumble (hey the latter one is my idea) A haptic touchscreen would be cool.http://www.tomshardware.com/news/feedback-tactile-heptic-touch-fujitsu,26244.html

What do you think they will add to it?

I hope it's 720p minimum.

Wii U + PS4

Consoles>Mobile

They might implement this patent:

Grr, something tells me it won't be HD just cause its Nintendo. Like, I have my doubts that they will choose a 720p res and not something lower but if they do choose 720p, it will be fap worthy

Neogaf did have some interesting designs though

Tactile touchscreen I could see. I think the main new thing about their next platform will be the Fusion element ... being able to play the same games on the go as at home. That will be their new sales pitch for the next 5 years.

My guess:
-the free form screen(already rumored). unlikely, seems to expensive to be on a max 200$ handheld.
-maybe a foldable screen. but unfeasible and expensive too.
-improve the N3DS recognition of the camera, where it coud recognise a blink of the eye, showing the tongue, know which screen the user is looking and use that as gameplay inputs, and call this inovation.
-changeable parts. i could change my analog stick for a abxy or d-pad.(there is a nintendo patent on this)
-HD screen only if they go single screen. But the legacy and expertise wont let them abandon dual screens, imo.

I think both are unlikely. The 'inovation' seems to be the integration with the home console and the OS..

They're done with dual screens I think. It made sense in 2004 when having one large touch panel was too expensive, it doesn't make sense anymore.

Even kids think that layout is dated as they've all moved on to tablets. It's just a waste of battery life/hardware cost nowadays to have a secondary screen that 90% of the games only use as an inventory/map screen.

I wouldn't be so sure that $200 is the max either for the handheld. It might actually cost more than the "console" version, just like Vita costs more than the Vita TV (Playstation TV). Maybe $220 for the handheld to start with, $200 for the console variant to start with, both scaling down in cost over time.

If Nintendo add a new DS like a DS3 ( lol typing that felt like I was typing dualshock3). I think it would be wise for them to wait Until the 3DS sells less then 8m in a single year.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

- Upgrade power to be about 25% better than Vita
- Take away the 2nd screen
- Take away the 3D
- Upgrade circle pad to actual analog stick
- Add 2nd analog stick

In conclusion, make the Nintendo Vita
