Basically, I want my first gaming experience on the PS4 to be Xxciting; I want something to wow me and show me what the new gen is all about.  Got it as a gift for X-Mas, and after clearing out some backlog, I'm ready to jump in. I have MGSV, GTAV and Last of Us, but I'm not particularly fond of having a one-year old port being my first unless I get some compelling reasons to try them out first. I haven't really paid attention to the PS4 library, so I would also like some recommendations. I enjoy every genre except racers.

When I bought the PS2, my first game was MGS2, and to this day, nothing has come close to providing the best new console experience. Everything was so perfect: fantastic gameplay, graphics, nice little details like Snake stepping on every step, easter eggs, etc. With the PS3, I ruined the experience by playing Ninja Gaiden Black first - great game, but I have already played the original. Then I played Resistance on the same day.

Knack

Wait for the Order. If you enjoy third person shooters with a heavy focus on story that has a variety of new weapons, that should definitely wow you.

If you get a PS4 likely your first game will be The Last of Us Remaster since it's bundled with it.

inFAMOUS Second Son was really good from a gameplay and visual perspective, weak on the story though and the world does feel empty.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is a fantastic game and was my Game of the Year.

How does Second Son compare to the first two? I enjoy them, but each had their own shares of problems. One thing I didn't like about the first game was the slow start. Didn't get hook until maybe 5 hours into the game.

I found Infamous Second Son to be a pretty enjoyable game. It's one of the best looking open world games, and using the powers are really fun. However it's very barren when it comes to city interaction, side quests, and overall length. The particle effects are pretty incredible though.

You should probably get Second Son. Very solid game.
