Win this gen with that line of thinking? It's only half of the market. If sony does alright in the states and sells very well everywhere else, it wins. It's been playing out like that all year.

Believe me, the one that wins the US wins, the generation. No amount of lead WW will change this. Don't forget the old saying that has been used and re-used so many times that it hurts already.

Globally in the US.

Look at last gen. What were you saying about that asinine saying, "Globally in the US"? The 360 nearly doubled the ps3 in US sales and who's below who in sales? The united states is not the center of the universe or the world.

Oh! you don't know about the local VGC meme "Globally in the US"... ^^^

No wonder you didn't get what I was saying xD

I could be that they feel it isn't going to change much in Europe.

If it's selling the same and amount and earn them less € per sold console.

Don't copy random editorials.

Weak euro -> less usd received by the console manufacturer in each sale -> no price cuts.

(this also means very bad news for sony, as europe is a huge market for them)

They know they can't win.

i'm just wondering: do we consider this "holiday sale" as the fastest pricedrop in history now? if not, why not? because it wasn't not worldwide?

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

The XBO is already cheaper than the PS4, at least where I live.

Because retailers cut the price already anyway.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

You meant what you originally said and that saying, sarcastically?

the yen hit record lows against the euro during the last quarter. Sony was creaming it in over the holiday period.

I'm not sure, but the manufacturing cost must be much more dependant on the USD strength than the JPY.
