Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Why hasn't MS cut Xbox One price in EU?

27 Dec 2014
PS4 in Europe - 7,169,519
X1 in Europe - 2,803,244

Thats a gap of about ~4,300,000 units, in 1 year.

The gap between PS3's lead and Xb360 in Europe is about 8 million units, in about 7/8 years.

Outside of the holidays, x1 has been completely underselling in all of Europe (minus UK)

Obviously, PS4 will trash X1, but doesn't microsoft even want to fight for an albeit decent marketshare?
Or have they (MS EU) burned their Xb1 FY budget on Fifa-deal?

Because MS is anglo focused

They want to make money somewhere. No point slashing the cost by 50 euros on the console when it will have minimal impact on sales.

But they are losing money on potential sales they could get if the price was significantly cheaper than the competition.

Why try to win a losing game?

They aren't even trying to sell/support their consoles WW. If they really cared about profit, marketshare or their fanbase, they would take WW seriously instead of half-assin' it. They will never surpass sony in video games with that line of thinking.

Why can't MS find Europe on a map?

The homeland is more important. Win that and they win the generation.

Win this gen with that line of thinking? It's only half of the market. If sony does alright in the states and sells very well everywhere else, it wins. It's been playing out like that all year.

Believe me, the one that wins the US wins, the generation. No amount of lead WW will change this. Don't forget the old saying that has been used and re-used so many times that it hurts already.

Globally in the US.
