Huckabee is a never-was, even within the party. If you want to go presidential, you have to give voters a hook. Huckabee was a GOP governor of an insignificant red state. If you're a governor, you either have to be from a famous family, lead an important state (large or battleground), or be a "play against type" governor (why Clinton from Arkansas had something going for him, while Huckabee from Arkansas had zilch going for him). This is why Walker and Christie have momentum, from blue New Jersey and Wisconsin. Walker's stronger, though, because he's more "ideological" than Christie (who will be haunted in right-wing circles by his cooperation with Obama after Superstorm Sandy in '12) and his scandals haven't stuck (though he certainly has his ethics skeletons).
Clinton is the name to beat unless something happens to tank the economy or we have a major terrorist attack, or start a war, in the next 21 months. The steady US economic recovery will get credited to the Dems, the demographic map is in their favor for Presidential years, and Clinton can sell the middle class with '90s nostalgia (remember the last time you felt well-off without being drowned by credit card debt?).
Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I would agree but it seems like the Repubs have a bad habit of just giving the nominee to whoever has been waiting in line the longest. Huckabee also saw a bit of success going up against much more popular candidates in 2008. I really hope he doesn't win the nominee. The party is also too far right at the moment. So even if they do give the nomination to Walker/ Christie the candidate we would get would be nothing like the politicians we have now. Kind of like the difference between Governor Romney and Nominee Romney.
Huckabee also ahd a little success when it came to the 2008 primary. He managed to grab a few states. Better than any 3rd place candidate in the last Repub primary at least.
I just looked it up actually. McCain ran in 2000, Romney in 2008. And since we had terrible candidates in 2012 minus Romney, Johnson, and Huntsman(lets face it these two aren't going to do anything anymore) my best guess would be for Huckabee

Agree 100% with this, I pray that she doesn't win. I don't want a democrate to win period but sadly I think America wants more of the same we've gotten the past 8 years.

I hear this every presidential election from both sides, "If X wins I am out of here!"
The difference is those to the left have many choices of similar countries that align better with their ideology. Canada is right there and Europe has several options. I have Denmark lined up with a dear friend if things ever went really bad here for example.
Those on the right may struggle with it, but the US is the dream land for conservatives in this era (particularly the "red" areas). So, where would a conservative go that they wouldn't feel more isolated and marginalized?

Hillary Clinton has been one of the strongest proponents of restricting the sales of video games.
While I disagree with her on many other things that is the dealbreaker.
No matter what positions Jack Thompson may hold, I would never vote for him.
This is the Game of Thrones

or you DIE

scott walker is a horrible human being. kicked out of marquette for cheating while even then only being able to manage a 2.0 gpa. dumb as rocks and has vindictive policy aimed at destroying the lives of the opposition and promoting corporate favortism for those willing to pay. if this douche bag runs for president it may be the first time i actually support the idea of assassination. the world would be better off without him.
OT - i like clinton. biden would be a horrible president. as a somewhat moderate lefty i have to say i respect christie and think he'd probably make a good president too.
i don't know the rest enough to have an opinion.

It seems that way, Hilary has been beating most of the potential Republican candidates in opinion polling for awhile now. The Republican Party is just so divided right now, it needs one single uniting issue that everyone can get behind, and one strong candidate who can appeal to most of the main demographics. Another big Hilary scandal certainly wouldn't hurt, lol. I just hope and pray that something changes between now and November 2016, America simply can't afford another 4-8 years of Democratic policy, the damage could be irreparable. Even as it is it's going to be very difficult to repair some of the damage Obama has done. |
what damage?
