MS evidently do not care, success and marketshare far outweigh any profits for them right now.

Like I said, they make more than enough profit not to care about making a profit on Xbox right now. I'm sure they'd like to make a profit, but they can live without it, with ease.

Do your research, from 08 onwards the Xbox division made profits (one year was as high as $1.3b with little else in the division making bank) it's not known if 360 overall made a profit, but for years the Xbox division was profitable.

You shouldn't bandie around quotes like that unless you can back them up with cold hard numbers.

Now to see if the real bosses (aka the shareholders) of MS will be willing to tolerate a second generation of massive losses from Xbox division. Cause that's where they're headed if they commit yo being $50 ahead of the price drop curve relative to their production costs.
