I predict that the Splatoon IP will become bigger than the Zelda IP. This isn't talking about lifetime sales for the series, it only refers to modern Nintendo and console / HH game VS console / HH game.

I also only mean bigger in terms of sales. For example, many consider Zelda to be bigger than Animal Crossing for the Nintendo brand. However, looking at sales, Animal Crossing has surpassed it.

It might not happen this gen, Zelda U may outsell Splatoon. I do think that Splatoon will grow and become bigger though, likely next gen.

It could happen. I think it will have a growth similar or better than Pikmin. I really hope it reaches the million units, it looks really promising.

Animal Crossing =/= Splatoon... The thing with AC is that it is the perfect game for casuals and the inital sales of it was high. It was essentially FarmVille before Facebook was a thing and when it went on the DS, it really took off cause the DS was filled with Casuals. Splatoon on the otherhand, while you can argue that it could be for "casuals," it will never ever sell as high nor will it ever have that casual appeal that animal crossing has. Essentially, what will happen is that, it will come out, sell like 500k-1million lifetime and will be the next character in smash bros that no one remembers
