Forums - Nintendo Discussion - POTENTIAL MEGATON: Xenoblade Chronicles X to run at 60fps?!?!

game looks fantastic! Love the art style and the faces. It looks like they could take most of the character models and resources and whip up the Xenosaga trilogy in 6 months!

But that frame rate. Its not filmic enough. It needs to be 24 fps and needs cinematic black bars to be taken seriously.

The only thing XCX is missing are good character models, mainly faces.

Everything else looks amazing, but those faces.

That's probably my only problem with the game as well. Those faces look awful, you'd think they'd be able to make them look better.

this consoles can run games at 60fps.The problem is most devlopersare willing to sacrifice performance in order to get higher poly models, more complex lightning or some dynamic physics based animations.

Nintendo seems to be an exception(Xenoblade X chars are ps2 tier though...)

I don't even think it's locked 30. Also it still looks rough around the edges, but also better than the last gameplay footage they showed on E3 I think.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Holy fuck if this is real then this going to be big... VERY... BIG!

I wouldn't call them great, but aside from the faces they're perfectly acceptable. Nothing worth praising, but nothing really worth complaining about either. I totally understand the criticism towards the faces though. Regardless to if it's artistic of technical, they look pretty dodgy

the characters bodies are something ps360 could only dream of (especially the more important characters, like elma), so they look great to me.

They don't look much better than those in SO4 to me, a game that released almost 6 years ago on the 360. The models in SO4 aren't particularly good either (they creep me out too lol):

(let me know if you have a better quality close up shot of X, this was the best i could find. There are plenty of full body ones to compare on google though).

X on the whole would certainly not be possible on the PS3 or 360 (and X itself obviously looks much better than SO4), but the models are a let down when they can be matched by a 6 year old game. Still, i think they're perfectly acceptable. Even if i dislike the faces.

If you think they're great then that's fine, but they're their certainly not on a level the PS3 and 360 "could only dream off".

This is better than the video on Nintendo's site but the framerate is still quite choppy. Hope the actual game isn't as choppy.

You're not the only one, but i does appear you're in a minority (at least online). They look pretty dodgy to me, but i don't think they're as bad as some are making them out to be. I think many of us have just been spoiled by how far facial capture has come in the last few years (both with the models and animation).

Trying too hard to troll? No game is 24fps on current-gen consoles.

Yep, definitely 30fps. And fucking blurry to that. Yes there were youtube artifacts but all that aliasing and low res was certainly not from youtube.
