I don't want to have phone that doesn't receive any updates or some shit anymore because the company decided to ditch the brand.

Yeah. I think that is their plan for the future of PlayStation. I'm sure that every PS4 will run it. Along with every other device known to man. There will be no more billions wasted developing hardware. No more worries about hardware sales, no more worries about GameStop trying to chip away the profits, and no more hardware restrictions. No more worries about APUs or CPU bottlenecks. Every game that comes out for it should be the best version possible. The possibilities are limitless if they go this route. Along with the money. It could save their company if they do it right. But if they keep trying to go the physical console route I think they would be better off going with the Samsung idea and focus on their banking and insurance businesses. |
Sounds good. The world wants online-only consoles. That's what people made clear at the beginning of this generation, right?

If they im[rove the mobile division some more MS would probably pay a shit load of money for it and if I was them I'd sell. Get something in the contract that PS Now and other PS apps must always be included. But if they turn it around more I'd say Sony would try and hang onto it. |
Why would MS buy another mobile division? Nokia, Sony, are they doing a collection :P ?

I think they will do PS Now as an extra option. You will have your PS4/PS5, regular console. But you can pay and stream the same games on a PS Vita/maybe next portable, TVs, phones.
If they sell the mobile division, I would expect PS Now to be made available on all phones and tablets.

Or even a PSP phone anyway, without the mobile division. A PSP phone would be made by the PS division. Even if it sold like the Vita, that would still be a more successful phone than anything the mobile division ever did. So why bother with that division.
The current trimming of divisions increase the chance of another handheld. Every division that they spin off or sell just makes the PS division more important and it makes more critical to drop one of the two lines of hardware product that the division sells.

Nokia already have low and high end phones. And Sony is an Android manufacturer. Buying Nokia already brought them a lot of problems because they ended up with a lot of duplicated positions, had a massive increase in workforce numbers and had to do layoffs to cut unnecessary positions. Buying another phone manufacturer would basically only create duplicated positions.
And besides that, they already have one very troubled phone company. They don't need other one.

eh that would have mattered years ago to me but now I don't even care. I didn't even notice any changes from any of the updates they've done lately. I would much rather have remote play then updates.

Yeah and I on the other hand don't care for remote play, which btw. is likely to come to phones of other brands anyway.
